Caution…this post could make you dizzy. My head is spinning after taking photos of it- trying to capture the essence of the card with Chevrons waving up and down and side to side. But it was worth it- I love chevrons! I was inspired to make this card by Laurie Willison at the MUSE Card Club #33. Here is her CAS card:
The design was sooo cool. I pulled out the dark blue and white as colors in my card and used the same sentiment. I wanted to go nautical but I could not pull it off. So, instead…I used the colors at Pals Paper Arts #170 this week to create a card with a bottom panel that is completely stamped like Laurie’s with the “envelope” style top in white showcasing the sentiment and some embellishments. Hope you like it…and do chevrons drive you bonkers sometimes when you look at them?
It is hard to see the contrast of the SU Early Espresso and the Midnight Muse but boy do they look nice together. I just kept thinking of a navy blazer with brass buttons and brown shoes- made me smile thinking of my two handsome sons who clean up quite nicely;)
Card Recipe:
STAMPS: SU Positively Chevron Background Stamp, SU Happy Day
INK: SU Early Espresso, SU Midnight Muse, SU Crushed Curry
PAPER: SU Early Espresso, SU Midnight Muse, SU Crushed Curry, SU Whisper White
ACCESSORIES: random brass brads

Cute, cute, cute…
Thanks, B! It’s simple but I liked it in the end;)

This is a fabulous take on the fun card of Laurie’s! You really rocked the design, Cindy, and with the lines of the stunning top half, the chevrons you used did not wonk me out all! This is super!! Darnell
Thanks, Darnell. Yeah, these chevrons are a little easier on the eyes. Loved Laurie’s design!

This is fun! Love how by making in portrait rather than landscape, you can accentuate the angle. Clean, and graphic! Thanks for playing!
Thanks, Ardyth. The stamp dictated the layout- one decision that was easy!
I love your crisp, clean design and the pattern along the bottom is just perfect! Beautiful card!
Thank you, Barb. I am going to try a few more with this design for sure- love the envelope top that Laurie displayed.
Just looking at this again, and I love the little detail of how your navy point fits right into the yellow chevron. Well done!
Awe, thanks Ardyth! I did play around with that aspect of the card because the chevron is an interesting design to work with!
This is super-duper! The way that you perfectly lined up with the Designer Series Paper is great ( yikes – was it frustrating) The colors and the whole card are so fresh and clean! Super card!
