I combined ColourQ #159 with Freshly Made Sketches # 57 in this card. I have wanted to use the SU Papillon Potpourri stamp set for a while now, and here was my chance. I thought of the Monarch butterfly and wings in tones of orange and thought that SU Only Orange and Tangerine Tango fit the bill. I wanted to get Pear Pizzazz ink into the picture but instead found the color in some lovely DSP- no matter how many times I photographed this card in different lightings- none of them gave this sweet paper justice- it is so pretty in person! I must say I liked the black to set things off.

Beautiful card Cindy! I love the pop of orange behind the black stitched ribbon. And that butterfly is gorgeous. Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
Thank You, Linda! It’s funny how one plays around with colors, shapes, and paper and somehow it eventually comes together;)
This is just beautiful….all the more reason I love this sketch! Your embossed background is perfect for your butterfly image! So glad you were able to play with my sketch this week!
Loved the sketch, LeAnne. Thanks for the inspiration. It is amazing how this sketch has inspired so many wonderful designs from the challengers!
Love that you used Halloween colors but didn’t make a Halloween card. The texture on the bottom with the stripes on top are a great combo. Thanks for joining us at the ColourQ this week.
Thanks, Deanna. I think I sometimes forget how this simple sketch adds so much dimension to a card with two different planes to work with.
Beautiful!!! Love your colouring of the butterfly, the DSP you’ve chosen and scoring of the white cardstock. I just love it! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
Thank You. I liked with the embossing folder when I saw it but fell in love with it when I used it!
Wow! What a gorgeous butterfly! I love the colors and textures, too. Thanks for sharing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
Thank you, Cindy. I really liked the realistic look of this butterfly but can’t wait to use the other butterflies in this set.
Love the colors! I so know how frustrating it can be taking photos! Your card looks like one thing in person and another on the screen! I think I spend more time taking photos than I do creating cards! Thanks for playing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!
Allisa, thank you. Maybe I need to take pictures in a white box…I am learning, I will keep experimenting:)
I appreciate your comments, Sylvia! Love the challenges at ColourQ!
