SU Affection Collection meets Festival of Prints DSP

When I am out and about I am always looking for inspiration around me. Yesterday I had to pick up some sewing notions at a chain store and saw this:

My mind immediately thought of Addicted to CAS #5 Code Word this round which is HEART. I lent out my SU Heart Framelits so I pulled out my Nestabilities hearts and scallops to make a Valentine using the retired Houndstooth  and Cherry Cobbler Polka Dots paper from the Festival of Prints DSP Pack. I have had the SU Affection Collection stamp set for a long time and never used the LOVE stamp in it – oh my, it is so pretty! So, keeping it Clean and Simple, here’s what I came up with:

STAMPS: SU Affection Collection
INK: SU Cherry Cobbler
PAPER:SU Cherry Cobbler, SU Very Vanilla, SU Early Espresso, SU Festival of Prints DSP
TOOLS: SU Simply Scored Scoring Tool, Nestabilities Hearts/Scallops

Another look at SU Madison Avenue…

When I mentioned in my post yesterday that I felt I would be using the SAB stamp set Madison Avenue a lot in the future…I did not think it would be so soon in the future…LOL. The new Muse Club Challenge #2 card just screamed to me…Madison Avenue with its flower and Sycamore Street DSP with its vibrant colors. I was also inspired by the shape of the card so I used SU Labels Collection to create the top border. I admit this isn’t normally a style of card- boldly whimsical- that I usually make, and was thankful to Suzanne Dahlberg for her inspiration and helping me to move out of my comfort zone.

AND…once again- this Sycamore Street DSP, buttons, and stamp set are all freebies during  STAMPIN’ UP Sale-A-Bration that runs until March 22. Yeah!

SU Madison Avenue- SAB 2013 for Dynamic Duos #37

I absolutely adore soft, earthy colors like Soft Suede and Crumb Cake so Dynamic Duos #37 was right up my alley this week. I was equally happy to use another STAMPIN’ UP Sale-A-Bration 2013 stamp set called Madison Avenue. I initially looked at this set more like a collection of stamps that could be used with other stamp sets rather than a set in and of itself.  However, I have been seeing some amazing creations in the card world using this set. I think I will be using it a lot in the future especially since it was FREE!! And you could pick this set OR the Vine Street Embossing Folder used on my card with a minimum $50 order. Gotta love Sale-A-Bration with its free items;)

I also used my new Designer Builder Brads from the Spring Catalog- oh my, LOVE them!! And there are 16 designer brads in the package with 20 epoxy bubbles for only $6.95. Imagine what you can do with them.  Comment on this post if you have some neat ideas…

How cool is that? Having a stamp set with a variety of sentiments is always a great idea because it allows you to create so many different cards with only ONE set. Not only did I use a FREE stamp set, I also used the FREE SAB Designer Series Paper also available with a $50 order. Notice that gorgeous shiny Tangerine Tango and Pool Party ribbon? It is also one of the 19 FREE items you can get during SAB 2013. All the items coordinate so perfectly- the reason I adore the STAMPIN’ UP products! I used The Paper Players #130 sketch challenge to make this cute “Thanks” card for one of my fun customers.

I would love to help you with any of your paper crafting needs…give me a call- send me an email- visit my online store.

SU Perfectly Preserved for MUSE # 1

I am so excited for the format of the new Muse-a Card Making Club Challenge site. A card is displayed from a designer that is to be an inspiration- a muse- for the community of card makers. The participants  get to encourage each other and vote on submissions they admire most.  Amy Kolling’s card was a great one to start off the challenge site!!

I was taken by how the black sentiment jumped out at me among the beautiful soft colors of  the yellow flowers and the green leaves. I was also impressed with the white space and the embossing.  These elements led me to create this card with the same soft colors with black accents on an embossed background. Amy also inspired me to use my SU Perfectly Preserved set again with its cute little flowers…I just love all the die cuts that come with each image;)
