This week, MUSE #18 Card Club designer- Marion Vagg- brings us a bright and colorful card.
My mind immediately thought of the SAB 2013 Sycamore Street DSP and the coordinating Madison Avenue stamp set. I created this fun card using the SU Teeny Tiny Wishes- a must have for sentiments! How wonderful that the smallest Floral Framelits die cuts out the flower perfectly. I also love how you can adjust the size of your SU Word Window Punch by attaching a sticky note and sliding the cut-out in farther and punching it again.
STAMPS: SU Madison Avenue (SAB 2013), SU Teeny Tiny Wishes
INK: SU Tangerine Tango, SU Island Indigo, SU Rich Razzleberry, SU Summer Starfruit
PAPER: SU Island Indigo, SU Rich Razzleberry, SU Sycamore Street DSP, SU Whisper White, SU Pool Party
TOOLS: SU Floral Framelits die, SU Word Window Punch, SU Stampin’ Dimensionals, Nestabilities Rectangle die, SU Stamp-a-ma-jig
I made this Father’s Day card for my hubby. I have had this Flourishes Menswear stamp for many years and thought it was perfect for the masculine theme at The Paper Players # 146. I used a scrap of striped patterned paper, some random “Eggplanty” colored cardstock, SU Certainly Celery and Almost Amethyst cardstock, and Cuttlebug embossing folders. I really liked how the shirt turned out using black embossing powder and the little brads for buttons:)
I am cutting it close to the end of Dynamic Duos #53 challenge… there are a few more people back in my house for the summer, and CHAOS has ensued. I absolutely love having the kids home but the calm empty nest is full again, and I can not get everyone’s college apartment stuff put away!! I was surprised I did not get kicked out of my stamping center when the kids were napping this afternoon after a late night catching up with their friends…lol. But I did come up with a quick CAS card that is for a kid ((they are still kids when they are graduating!):
I mashed it up at the Friday Mashup # 110 this week with a Monochromatic card with Twine on it. I used dies from Your Next Stamp to make the balloons and clouds, purple patterned paper from Making Memories, and Happy Birthday from PTI Sweet One. The card is so sweetly purple with a hint of aqua:) but taking the picture was not so sweet- the colors were hard to capture…Sorry:(
For our stamping night this month, the girls and I played around with the Thumping Technique using the SU Swallowtail and Papillon Potpourri. I have seen this done on a few different sites after the Spring 2013 Catalog came out. I especially liked the colors Frenchie used- Sahara Sand, Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, and Tempting Turquoise. It is quite a simple technique to do but has a WoW factor. Just ink your stamp, and while it is still inked and wet, thump different markers- like they were drumsticks- on the rubber stamp. Then huff on it and stamp the image. It’s foolproof and every one is unique. I liked the sentiments with the SU I Am set- it just reminded me of the perfect word to describe a butterfly and a special friend- beautiful.
