I was inspired by the simplicity of the hues of colors and the perched birds on Therese Calvird’s card at the MUSE Card Club # 30 this week. I just did some simple sponging with SU Bermuda Bay, Summer Starfruit, and Tangerine Tango around a masked circle to create moonlight. Then I stamped the image when I removed the mask. I made a similar tent card using this technique a few weeks back but as I was doing this one- I really liked the white space around the image without cutting it out. So, this is what I came of that musing:
Card Recipe:
STAMPS: SU Serene Silhouettes, SU Take Care (retired)
INK: SU Bermuda Bay, SU Summer Starfruit, SU Tangerine Tango, SU Soft Suede
PAPER: SU Bermuda Bay, SU Tangerine Tango, SU Whisper White
Your card is gorgeous and I love your design xx
Thank you, Karen for stopping by and leaving a sweet comment;)
Gorgeous card and such a fun technique. I will have to try this myself some time…
Thanks, Marianne. It is a fun and easy technique for something different:)
This is such a clever interpretation of this week’s Muse, Cindy! Thanks so much for playing along this week!
Thank you, Ardyth. I was intending to go another way- then saw the white space and liked it!
Beautiful card! You’ve created such a great sponging background – full of texture and just hints of colour – great work.
Thank you, Janelle, for stopping by- I do love sponging!
So pretty – love the effect of the sponging.
Thanks, Janet. It is fun to see how sponging can have a neat effect- it comes out differently every time:)
So so beautiful, love that you have left the white space behind the birds!
Thanks, Therese. Your card was so awesome to be inspired by this week!
I just saw this in the MUSE gallery, Cindy, and it is a stunning card!!! Darnell
