I just can’t go into Lowe’s without grabbing some paint swatches…I always have a cache of them in any purse or bag I am carrying…lol. Well, this last trip with my husband had me waiting quite a while so I thought about what colors ColourQ # 204 were asking to be used this week. So I picked up what I thought were the perfect matches in SU colors, and when I got them home- they were perfect matches. I was asked to make 3 birthday cards this week so I put out the colors before me and prayed for inspiration.
I decided to make some candles to showcase the colors. The Concord Grape candle looks really dark in the photo but matches nicely with the Pattern Stack of Striped Concord Grape in person. You really should stop by and see it…
Card Recipe:

Absolutely positively love this layout, Cindy!! You really should design sketches for challenges!! Darnell
You, Miss Darnell, should be a motivational speaker…wait, are you? You make me smile:))) Thanks so much!
You take clever and cute to a whole new level! Love it!
Awe, Linda, thanks for the sweet words! I had a fun time, ok, spent a lot of time playing around with this!
What a super cute card! So clever to use the paint swatches, too! Great use of the colors. Thanks for joining us at ColourQ!
Thank you, Yapha. I finally did something with those swatches in my purse!
So pretty! I love the colours you’ve used – a great idea!
Thank you, Janelle. Last year, I used paint chips for balloons to match a random Designer Paper that I could not find a SU ink to match. Now, it is my go to if I can’t find a match with a specific color I am working with in a project/card.
Sweet card, Cindy, love the clean white space with those candles! So happy you shared your card with us at the colourQ.
Thank you, Sylvia. I love white space but sometimes struggle with it. I see cards with a lot and love them but when I do one, I am hesitant if it is too much or needs more filler. As I look back, I do like this one:)
Very sweet card! Love the colors and design. 🙂
Thank you, Anonymous, for your sweet comment;))
Cindy LOVE your bright and bold card so much. Very festive. Where are your paint chips from? Thank you so much for sharing with us this week at the colourQ!
Hey Tracey, thanks so much! The paint swatches are from a big box home improvement store Lowes. These ones were specifically Pantone colors from VALSPAR brand of paint. Any store that carries paint usually has swatches, and SU is right on trend with the colors;)
