SU Bring on the Cake

I just can’t go into Lowe’s without grabbing some paint swatches…I always have a cache of them in any purse or bag I am carrying…lol. Well, this last trip with my husband had me waiting quite a while so I thought about what colors ColourQ # 204 were asking to be used this week. So I picked up what I thought were the perfect matches in SU colors, and when I got them home- they were perfect matches. I was asked to make 3 birthday cards this week so I put out the colors before me and prayed for inspiration.

I decided to make some candles to showcase the colors. The Concord Grape candle looks really dark in the photo but matches nicely with the Pattern Stack of Striped Concord Grape in person. You really should stop by and see it…

  1. Absolutely positively love this layout, Cindy!! You really should design sketches for challenges!! Darnell

    1. Thank you, Janelle. Last year, I used paint chips for balloons to match a random Designer Paper that I could not find a SU ink to match. Now, it is my go to if I can’t find a match with a specific color I am working with in a project/card.

    1. Thank you, Sylvia. I love white space but sometimes struggle with it. I see cards with a lot and love them but when I do one, I am hesitant if it is too much or needs more filler. As I look back, I do like this one:)

    1. Hey Tracey, thanks so much! The paint swatches are from a big box home improvement store Lowes. These ones were specifically Pantone colors from VALSPAR brand of paint. Any store that carries paint usually has swatches, and SU is right on trend with the colors;)
