I have not played along for a few weeks now with the Muse Card Club– a fun challenge site where YOU get to pick the cards that tickle your fancy. Life has been crazy busy but I was determined to submit this week! I have enjoyed The Muse Club because it has opened up a new avenue of inspiration for me. This week, Marion Vagg has a cute birdcage with a chalkboard effect on her card for the MUSE #44.
My friend Wendy and I were at a summer craft show a few years ago, and I just had to have this birdcage die so Wendy got it for me for Christmas! And…I made her save it until Christmas, too! I guess that showed a little crafting constraint. Fast Forward to now and I finally used it…thanks, girlfriend;)
I think you can see how Marion’s card inspired mine…I used my SU Boho Blossoms punch and the Bird Builder punch leaves to make my little bouquet. I popped the birdcage up off the card and it looks really sweet in person. The hubster said I should have put a bird in the cage, too but I had already finished the card. Head over to the Muse site and vote for your favorite submissions this week.
(P.S. I was asked to make 5 sympathy cards so I thought this fit that need.)
Love the birdcage—-where did you ever find it/
Thanks, Nancy. Email me and I can send you the info on the birdcage;)I tried to email you but it came back.
Your card is gorgeous and I love your birdcage too:) hugs xx
Thanks, Karen. I am so glad I pulled out my bird cage…my wheels are turning now…
Just love your card! It replicates without copying the Muse Card. Very Clever.
Thank you, Janelle. It was hard not to totally CASE Marion’s card since it inspired me in many ways;)
I love the clean lines combined with the bright flowers, looks great
