SU Winter Woods

October 18, 2018

I used my SU Winter Woods Bundle again for this card…

This time, I used the cluster of trees, the pine tree die cut , and that super cool wavy edgelit.
I started out with this card made with a Shaded Spruce card base with a white panel.
I liked the clean and simple look but wanted something with a little more something.

Then I remembered I could use an embossed vellum panel to create a snowy scene.
This added another layer and more visual appeal, don’t you think?
I really liked that effect on the card below!

*Thanks, Tami Voss Kiemel, for sparking my imagination with the vellum, too.

Take a look at my video to see how I used the wavy edgelit from the
In the Woods Framelits to create the snow drift.
The same measurements are used on both cards.

I made a simply designed card with the cute little penguins

from the Making Every Day Bright stamp set:)

It’s a simple card but to help you out…

here is a video showing how I made the igloo and the snow drifts.
Thanks to Jan B Cards for the inspiration for the igloo:)

*The sentiment comes from the SU Farmhouse Christmas Stamp Set.

SU Farmhouse Christmas

October 13, 2018

I got an awesome card from one of my favorite friends and stampers, Janet Munden.
I was so wowed by her card that I totally cased it!

I was so impressed with Janet’s layout- isn’t that burlap ribbon just so cool?
I thought the Farmhouse Designer Series Paper was a perfect addition, too!

Take a look at the fantastic Farmhouse Christmas Bundle:

That picket fence is so darn cute…I gotta make a card with it to show you…
if I don’t soon, remind me…lol.

SU Still Night with Winter Woods

October 10, 2018

I combined the SU Still Night with the SU Winter Woods Bundles to make this card.
Although the Still Night has Christmas sentiments, I added a Happy Birthday sentiment from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

I stamped my owl with Memento black ink on Sahara Sand.
I colored the owl with Light Crumb Cake and Light Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends.
I colored the eyes with a Daffodil Delight Watercolor Pencil.

I was inspired by the card below card on Pinterest- I believe Mary K. Jones made it:)

I used the pine trees in the stamp set instead of the tall trees, and I mounted my Blueberry Bushel on Night of Navy cardstock to
keep the dark night sky as the background. I also stamped and die cut the owl image instead of the other owl in the set.

SU Beautiful Blizzard

October 4, 2018

I hear some people have spotted snow flurries already, can you believe that?
Well, today, all of you are going to see snowflakes…

I used the Beautiful Blizzard Bundle to make this Clean and Simple card that is a “winter” card.
It can be sent as soon as the flurries fly!
It would make a great birthday card or encouragement card, don’t you think?

I designed this card with a larger border around the stamped panel.
The card base front is 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, the Bermuda Bay is 4″ x 5-1/4″,
then I skipped the next layer (that would be 3-3/4″ x 5″)
and  finished it off with the white stamped panel of 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″.

The 4″ x 5″ die is super cool- pun intended. You get a blizzard of snowflakes with a one run through the Big Shot.
