Stampin’ UP! Reach for the Stars Planter Box Video Tutorial

October 4, 2023

When you live where you can see the Shuttle take off- the Stampin’ UP! Reach for the Stars really comes to life! I made a Planter Box Fun Fold using the fun bundle and cool Stampin’ UP! Stargazing Designer Series Paper. I love this card- I hope the photos show how fun it is!

Here’s a video showing how I made it…and it has great circle and oval dies in it!

I am sharing this with the Paper Players #660 and Tic Tac Toe Challenge #228 where I choose Purple, Orange, and Black or I could pick Purple, Moon, Free- I am sure there is a moon in there somewhere!

October 7, 2023- I was picked as the Headliner at the Paper Players #660!

I love this sentiment!

The Planter Box Mechanism sits at the fold to open up with a surprise.

And here comes the rocket…

The strip of DSP at the bottom of the white panel is 3/4″ but it looks bigger on a different angle so I could fit the whole card in the photo.

Measurements: Card Base: 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ on the 11″ side, Basic White on the inside: 4″ x 5-1/4″, DSP on the outside and inside: Cut into 4″ x 12″ on the 12″ side at 5-1/4″, 9-3/4″, 10-1/2″ and 11-1/4″ and you have all the pieces in order that you need from the front, the back of inside and the two pieces on the planter box, and the bottom piece on the white.

(In the video, I cut 5-1/4″, then another 5-1/4″ and then a 3/4″ and another 3/4″. Then I went back and cut the TOP 3/4″ of the second 5-1/4″ for the bottom of the white panel. That way, the pieces on the box fit are in alignment the big panel piece but that was on the fly as I was making it…) My brain functions differently on a video…sometimes not so clearly…lol.

  1. Cindy this is fantastic! These papers are gorgeous and I just love the fun fold with the shuttle inside – so clever!! I saw the space shuttle Atlantis launch from Cape Canaveral in September 2006 (having previously having arranged 2 vacations around launches but missed them due to flight delays) – it was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever witnessed, a true bucket list moment so you are fortunate to live close enough to see this kind of thing on a regular basis. Thanks for playing along with our space challenge over at The Paper Players this week!

  2. Wow, Cindy! What a fabulous card….and SO perfect for our challenge! This is such a clever fold, and really showcases the shuttle die cut. What fun! Thank you for playing in our “Lost in Space” challenge at The Paper Players!
