SU Perfectly Preserved with Scentsational Season

The Friday MashUp # 128 this week has a challenge to use a fall food and paper piecing. I am sure it is a complete surprise to you that I decided to use the retired SU Perfectly Preserved stamp set! I paired it with another “I don’t know why it is retired” SU set Scentasational Season. I love these sets with their matching framelits! I covered up the snowflake on the mug with a popped up apple to coordinate with the instant apple cider packet in this simple holder. I embellished it with a cinnamon stick. I also corner punched the cider packet to just put a little finish on it.  I technically did not mash it up with paper piecing but I did add a piece of some DSP;)

SU Perfectly Perserved with Scentsational Season Cider Holder

Card Recipe:
STAMPS: SU Perfectly Preserved and SU Scentsational Season (both retired)
INK: SU Real Red, SU Garden Green, SU More Mustard (retired)
PAPER: SU Real Red, SU Polka Dot Parade DSP, SU Whisper White
ACCESSORIES: SU Burlap Ribbon, SU Real Red Designer Button (on Clearance Rack now!), jute twine, cinnamon stick, SU Stampin’ Dimensionals
TOOLS: SU Framelits with the above stamp sets

Here is a quick tutorial:

Start with an 8.5″ square and cut diagonally in half from two points across from each other diagonally. You do this by lining up the two points in the cutting groove of a trimmer. You will end up with two equal triangles. Place the longer side of one of the triangles against the top edge of the Scoring Tool and  score at 4″ and 8.” Corner round all three points of the triangle. Fold the scored areas over each other to form a pocket that is held together by sticky strip.

  1. What an adorable little packet, Cindy! Did you use the envelope board to make this? I love the combo of stamp images. Thanks for joining the Friday Mashup this week.

  2. Thanks, Heidi. I actually used the corner punch of the Envelope Punch Board but made the little holder by folding on the diagonal an 8 1/2 inch square and cutting it, then putting the long side against the score board and scoring at 4 inches and 8 inches. The I folded it in.

  3. This came out so cute Cindy!! Anyone would love to get this as a fall treat. Thanks for joining us at The Friday Mashup.
