Here is Lisa’s Friday Mashup # 192 Challenge:
Create a project with a “Embossing Folder Stamping Technique.”
Create a project with “Mix & Matched Shapes.”
or
Mash it Up! and create a “project using the technique with different shapes.”
I took a little artistic license and used a brayer to apply the ink to the raised portion of my embossing folder and actually did run it through the Big Shot.
It creates a different look with great texture. I used the fun new die cut from the SU Hello Thinlits. LOVE them! Put a piece of wax or parchment paper between the cardstock and die to remove the die cut easily although there are nifty little holes to poke the words out, too.
A little history and maybe a designing tip: I originally had the arrows flowing in the opposite direction and the sentiment in the lower third of the card but after photographing it, it just looked off to me.
I thought it was because the arrows and the cursive font should be flowing in the same direction so I changed it up, and put the sentiment in the upper third for a change of pace. (And of course, I had an adhesive rip to cover when I switched things up…lol) That seemed to fix my “this doesn’t look right” dilemma:) But now that I look at it- It’s okay. We are our own toughest critics, huh?
Hop on over to the Friday Mashup and play along this week! Get to know the new Design Team members as they come aboard- a group of talented crafters!
Cindy, such a cute card. Love the colors and the way you used them with your folder!
