SU Merry Cafe Candle with Gift Card

December 8, 2017

I made up some little Christmas gifts this weekend using the SU Merry Cafe stamp set and the Coffee Cup Framelits. I was inspired by Christine Miller’s holder that I tweaked a teensy bit putting together.

Start with a 2-3/4″ x 11″ piece of cardstock.  On the 11″ side, score at 1/2″, 3-1/4″, 3-3/4″, and 6-1/2″. On the 1/2″ section, place Tear & Tape. In the next section, die cut or punch a circle to fit whatever size candle etc. you want to place in the holder.

Next, on a 2-1/2″ x 9-1/4″ piece of cardstock, score at 1/2″ on the 2-1/2″ side. On the 9-1/4″ side, score at 1/2″, 3-1/4″, 6″ and 8-3/4″.  Snip each of the 1/2″ sections on the long side into angles as shown below. Place Tear & Tape on the two 1/2″ x 2″ sections on each end and the middle section.

Flip over the cardstock and place Tear & Tape on the other two sections as shown below.

On the piece of cardstock with the circle cut out, place a 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Coffee Break DSP. Fold up and adhere the 1/2″ section with the Tear & Tape to the DSP covered panel as shown below.

Adhere the other piece of cardstock to the cardstock above as shown below.

Here is another pic that shows it adhered on the bottom. Remove the other pieces of Tear & Tape from the other flaps and slip into the sides of the bottom.

Next, attach the last two flaps behind the tall side of the box as shown below.

Adhere three 2-1/2″ x 1-3/4″ pieces of Coffee Break DSP to the sides of the box as shown below.

Stamp the sentiment for the gift card tag and adhere to the gift card. I used a 2-1/2″ circle punch for the Real Red, a 2-1/4″ circle punch for the Early Espresso, and a 2″ circle punch for the Whisper White circle.

I used some Garden Green patterned paper from the Be Merry DSP for the coffee cup tag. I adhered the DSP to a white cup base to make it sturdier. I placed the candle holder into a cello bag and closed with some burlap twine.
