This new Color Theory Designer Series Paper is so fun…only one problem…
I wish it came in every color!!!
My next few posts will show you some cards using the different patterns found in the Color Theory DSP. I am showcasing the versatile SU Colorful Seasons stamp set and Seasonal Layers Thinlits, too. All of the cards in this series use a 3″ x 5-1/2″ piece of DSP bordered by a 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of coordinating cardstock on a portrait A2 card.
Here is a Christmas/Winter card that I added a Christmas Sentiment from he SU Hang Your Stockings stamp set. I love how the crackled pattern resembles cracked ice:) As seen above, this pattern comes not only in Dapper Denim but also in Crushed Curry, Old Olive, and the new Berry Burst!
Addition to Product List, of course…

Looking for a neat way to give a gift card this holiday season? Here is a quick and easy one..
I made two versions of the card using the SU Warmth and Cheer Designer Series Paper Pack full of “warm” patterns. I used a hostess stamp set from the Annual Catalog called Time of Year . It is a versatile set with all occasion sentiments. As you can see I created a Christmas and a Birthday card.
Here are some directions:
First, you score a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of cardstock at 2 3/4″ and 5 1/2″ on the 11″ side. You then fold back the 2 3/4 portion into the inside 5 1/2″ score fold (see photo below). On the edge that will fold back to the 5 1/2″ score, trim 1/8″ off so it fits flat unimpeded by the fold.
Now slide that trimmed edge the whole way inside the Classic Label Punch in the middle of the paper. After you punch the slot, you will have to slide the punch 1/8″ to the left and then right to widen the slot for the gift card holder. See photos below:
Adhere the flap down around the edges of the flap so the gift card has a pocket to slide into.
To hold the card closed just pop some dimensionals on the top right hand corner under something like the circle I have with the holly and berries or the birthday cake (off hand, I can’t remember where it came from) on it and slide the flap under it. The confetti comes from a new stamp coming out in the Ocassions Catalog.
Here is the Birthday version:
This is one of the cutest ways I have seen to make a quick and easy gift card holder…I bet you can’t resist making one now…have fun and share it with me if you make one!

My van is packed, and I am off to Atlanta for the Stampin’ Up Onstage event Friday through Sunday then on my way back to my sweet stamping group in Pittsburgh! I wanted to share the swaps I am taking to share with other demonstrators in Atlanta…I just fell in love with the SU Seasonal Bells stamp set as I played around with it…so easy to stamp and punch out!
I am also sharing these cards with LeAnne and the gang over at the Paper Players Challenge # 319. It’s a Tic-Tac Toe challenge- I am choosing Snowflakes (on my bells and one pattern on one of my cards), Patterned Paper, and Ribbon.
Silver, silver bells…
Gold bells, gold bells…
I used the snowflake patterned paper on the card below:
*Big difference in night photo and day photo with my amateur photography skills and high ceiling lights that cast shadows:(
Just a simple inside:
This stamp set with its coordinating punch is perfect for not only Christmas but also for a wedding card! It has a cute little Mr. and Mrs. that can be stamped inside the bell image- just how sweet is that?
I really love the This Christmas Designer Series Specialty Paper- 24 sheets in a pack with Vanilla and classic Christmas Real Red and Garden Green but also Black and Vanilla patterns-
be sure to check it out!
Thanks for buzzing by, friends…
November 5, 2016- Thanks, Claire, for The Paper Player’s Pick this week!

I think the Star of Light Bundle is one of my favorites in the Holiday Catalog… and it was one of the favorite cards we did at our Christmas Stamp-a-Stack this month, too:)
I love the sentiments that focus on the real meaning of the season… Jesus, the Light of the World.
I love using non-traditional colors at Christmas…isn’t Elegant Eggplant just lovely? I often use Smokey Slate cardstock with the Silver Glimmer Paper. Vellum seemed just perfect to use with the star, too. Many of my gals thought the inside star was a stamp only to find out it was die cut with a thinlit allowing the Elegant Eggplant cardstock to peek through!
This bundle has a lot of offer:
