SU Affection Collection

SU Affection Collection

It’s time for another Black Tie Challenge at the Dynamic Duos # 95. This week we are mixing More Mustard with Basic Black and an option of dry embossing.

I was so sad when SU retired More Mustard- it was the perfect fall color. I forgot to stock up on the More Mustard card stock because I thought I had a few packs but found out later that I had 3 of Not Quite Navy that was being retired as well. And of course, I ordered a Not Quite Navy before retirement. Just can’t win in this card (stock) game…lol

I did however have some pretty More Mustard DSP that used to come in color packs so I used it. I liked the vintage wallpaper pattern so I mixed it with the retired SU Affection Collection and some pearls. In person, the black ink is dark and rich but the photo has it a bit washed out. When I played with it in photoshop the More Mustard went crazy. So you will have to take my word for it…oh, and the image that has embossing around the edge is perfectly placed on the black diamond but the photo angle makes it look off….blah, blah, blah…thanks for looking and reading my ramblings! Don’t forget to ahead over to see what the fantastic Design Team members came up this week…

SU Affection Collection

I played around today with the  pretty pink colors for Dynamic Duos #45 this week.

I used retrosketches # 56 to help me along…I just love gray with any color especially pink.

SU Affection Collection meets Festival of Prints DSP

When I am out and about I am always looking for inspiration around me. Yesterday I had to pick up some sewing notions at a chain store and saw this:

My mind immediately thought of Addicted to CAS #5 Code Word this round which is HEART. I lent out my SU Heart Framelits so I pulled out my Nestabilities hearts and scallops to make a Valentine using the retired Houndstooth  and Cherry Cobbler Polka Dots paper from the Festival of Prints DSP Pack. I have had the SU Affection Collection stamp set for a long time and never used the LOVE stamp in it – oh my, it is so pretty! So, keeping it Clean and Simple, here’s what I came up with:

Color Challenge with PPA 142 and SU Affection Collection

The challenge was to create a card using the  SU colors: Elegant Eggplant, Lucky Limeade, and Pumpkin Pie or similar colors. I had Pumpkin Pie but  subbed in  Eggplant Envy (retired)  for Elegant Eggplant and Wild Wasabi for Lucky Limeade.

I would not have chosen to use the colors together unless I was making a Halloween card but was pleasantly surprised how attractive they looked together on the card. Thanks for looking!
