SU Family Reunion

SU Clockworks

I have been looking at this SU Clockworks stamp set for a long time and finally got it! I was excited to use it for a birthday card a friend asked me to make for her boss. I used the colors Jaydee picked for The Paper Players # 167 this week.

SU Family Reunion with Grandpa

I just got back from visiting my parents and my grandparents this evening. I am so blessed to have both of  them live only 45 minutes away from me in a lovely over 55 retirement community. My husband is away on business so I got to eat my mom’s homestyle cooking tonight. I can’t express how wonderful the four of them are…they would do anything, at anytime, for anyone! I was reminded as I drove home that I need to cherish every moment with them and not take them for granted. I wanted to post a card for The Friday Mashup # 104  tonight so I made my grandpa’s birthday card for when he turns 90- a simple card for a man who is no frills just the epitome of honor and integrity. Notice the umbrella the embossed man is holding? Sorry, I could not mash it up with a Double Z fold this time but I did combine it with the Dynamic Duos #47 colors this week.

SU Family Reunion with a Daisy

Yes, I am using a SU BigZ Die that I have had for years and have never used! I bet you are beginning to think I am a hoarder! But, I always rationalize my purchases saying  stamps don’t spoil- they eventually get used…heeheehee. And, I am glad I used this one, it worked  so well to showcase the pretty SU colors of  So Saffron and Basic Black at Dynamic Duos #44 this week. I should have used ribbon instead of baker’s twine since it was a dessert option-oops.

Seize the Cheeseburger…I mean, Birthday…

I saw a delicious cheeseburger punch art creation by Kay Kalthoff a few months ago. She was kind enough to send me the punch sizes asap. However, I punched the burger out of the circle punch and no matter how I put that burger together, it “tasted” awful. I was wondering why I could not make that cheeseburger so it sat in a little pile for a month on the scrap heap. But, my dear son is a cheeseburger afficinado, and I really wanted to make him the perfect cheeseburger. Then I saw Seize the Birthday #8 Sketch Challenge– and Addicted to CAS # 7–  Both MASCULINE so, I picked those pieces back up and realized the burger should have been the same size as the bun…duh! I adjusted my burger patty and yummy… it looked as it should;)
