SU Occasions Alphabet with Designer Frames Embossing Folder

Summer Starfruit is starting to grow on me…after a few years…lol. It is an interesting color- kinda vintage yellow? Pals Paper Arts # 198 color challenge this week included Summer Starfruit with Pool Party and Old Olive.

I used last year’s SAB 2013 paper (on the Clearance Rack) as my background for my oval embossed frame from Designer Frames, Item # 123130. These little guys pack a big punch on a card. There are two frames included for $8.95.

I then used my Labels Collection Framelits to die cut around the embossed oval and added a small border on the left and right sides. I cut my DSP to allow the main focal image to be centered on the pattern so I could add some pearls on the background.

Another SU Occasions Alphabet—well, there are 26 letters…

Since there are 26 letters in the alphabet, I could be posting one for the next 24 days…but I won’t. I just could not resist doing another one for the CASual Fridays Challenge #90 -Black and White+ one color. I could not use yesterday’s baby card post since Dynamic Duos asks not to be entered with another color challenge- if I read the rules correctly? Anyhow, I was inspired to make this card from Marion Vagg’s card on the MUSE #6 Challenge:

I totally was in awe of Marion’s use of Washi tape. I have been seeing this everywhere and wanted to get my hands on some. Last week, my friend Sandy and I had a fun girls’ running around day, and I picked up some of this trendy Washi tape…and here I got to not only use it but also get dizzy looking at it:

SU Occasions Alphabet

I had to chuckle when I came across this embossing folder in my stash. The focal image that is behind the stamped oval says…FRIEND. I looked at all the words on the folder and some I don’t think I would use to describe a friend…tickle? kissable? irresistible? However, I thought all the words describe a BABY- The Paper Players #133 theme this week- so I decided to use the embossing folder with the SU Occasions Alphabet “B” is for Baby. I used the colors for Dynamic Duos #40 this week to create this simple and quick card. It took me longer to take a good photo of it!
