SU Oh Hello

SU Mixed Bunch and SU Oh, Hello

What do you get when you punch out the middles of  the flowers from the  SU Mixed Bunch set so you can insert a piece of candy for a favor?  I’ll tell ya…a bunch of cute little circles that inspired me to create a card for Laurie Willison’s  MUSE Card Club # 24 !

SU Oh, Hello

Played around making a card tonight when I should have been working on my Convention Swaps…but I had  a lot of fun with some Washi tape I had found in my stash so that’s what really matters, right?  I think I picked this tape up during a Christmas sale this past year- it’s so colorful! I can’t wait to get my SU Washi tape in my next order! I ran a piece of Very Vanilla CS that put the Washi tape on through my Big Shot with my Scallop die cutting the neat scallops. Just remember whatever color CS you put under your semi-translucent tape shows through so I used Very Vanilla as the “white” space on this CAS card. I used Cindy’s neat sketch at Freshly Made Sketches # 91 as my starting point but remembered how Marion Vagg’s card over at the Muse Card Club # 22 this week featured  a large banner with a bold sentiment so I made a bigger banner than I first intended with a thick sentiment on this card.

I am still learning how to take better photos but here are two with some different lighting and angles:

SU Oh, Hello with SU Beautiful Wings Embosslit

I am beginning to think I would put a butterfly on every card if I could ! And, SU has so many Butterfly items to pick from like the Beautiful Wings embosslits, the Bigz Beautiful Butterflies, the Elegant and Bitty Butterfly punches and all the stamp sets that coordinate with the punches! It is no wonder I love butterflies!!! Here’s a card using the  Beautiful Wings embosslit for Freshly Made Sketches #80 using Colour Q # 183 colors:

Waste Not…Want Not

I never like to waste things…my husband says I am just cheap- I call it frugal. I save every little scrap of paper when I am crafting. When I was creating the card in my last post, the image did not fit in my circle but I knew it would not go to waste…I used it again for another  MUSE Card Club # 8 entry. Therese Calvird’s  card inspired me to use DSP as the card base, a dark sentiment that stood out, and framing a focal point within a negative cut out that reveals the DSP underneath. This is the very first time I ever covered an entire card front with DSP;)

SU Vintage Verses- SAB 2013

There’s still time left to place a $50 order and get a free Sale-a-Bration 2013 item!  Up until March 22, one of the 19 free items you can pick is SU Vintage Verses. I used this set with the flower from SU Oh, Hello and SU Just Thinking single stamp, both in the Spring Catalog 2013.  I was inspired by  the circle focal image of a flower on Therese Calvird’s card at the Muse Card Club #8 . The colors from The Paper Players #136 and the sketch from Fab Friday # 13  also helped me design this pretty note card:
