SU Backyard Basics

I often find ColourQ a definite challenge because sometimes I don’t have the colors and sometimes I can’t figure out what to do with the colors! I still love the challenge site though;) I didn’t have Peach Parfait ink or cardstock so I scrounged around my DSP paper and found this design in the retired Everyday Enchantment. I stamped my tulip in Basic Gray and used my blender pen to color in the image with Lovely Lilac and Certianly Celery since I didn’t have any Kiwi Kiss ink or paper. The sentiment didn’t photograph as dark as it turned out in person.

SU Sketched Birthday for the Friday MashUp # 133

Amy has fun color challenge for us at the Friday MashUp # 133. We can mash it up this week by adding a CAKE. Amy has been such an inspiration to me, and I send out a big thanks to her!

I pulled out my SU Sketched Birthday set with its slice of birthday cake and used Coastal Cabana, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, and Crushed Curry to make this card. I was afraid I would gunk up the cake if I started coloring it so I left it gray with some Coastal Cabana stripes on the candle and some Crushed Curry lines around the candle flames to add some color. I added a touch of bling to the flame and on the sentiment. It’s a light and pretty card in person but was abit difficult to capture with my photograph. At least the person receiving will be able to see the crisp white with the gray on it;)

SU One in a Million with a Sketched Birthday Balloon

Oh, golly… I am going to call this entry into The Friday MashUp # 119 the Wednesday MessUp since I managed to take an entirely clean work surface and turn it into this for just one card:

But in the end…I Mashed it up with the sketch and a lot of NEW catalog items- the Birthday Basics DSP, the Crisp Cantaloupe Ruffled Stretch Ribbon, and the new paper colors like Smoky Slate, Crisp Cantaloupe and Bermuda Bay (a return to the line-up). I love how stamp sets become fresh and new to me when I use new colors, papers, and accessories!

I masked out the ONE on my stamp image by placing a small piece of post-it note over it before I inked it so I could use the number 1 instead of the word one. Oh, and don’t forget to remove the post-it before you stamp!

Playing around with The Paper Players # 149 and Freshly Made Sketches # 90 today with SU Sketched Birthday- a fun treat I received back in January at Leadership Conference- and today was the first time it has seen ink- eek!
