SU Sympathy card

SU Sorry for Everything with Heart Happiness

January 8, 2018

Happy Monday, friends! What a wonderful weekend I had with all my stamping buddies at our Annual Sale-a-bration Kick Off Luncheon! I still have to pinch myself when I think of all the special friends I have made since I became a demonstrator. Thanks to all of you who came and braved the cold- inside and ouside- heeheehee.

This is one of the 6 cards we made at our Occasions Catalog Kick Off.
It incorporates a technique called an Eclipse Effect.

How did I make it?
Well, I have another video for you!!

Sorry for all the Ummm-s.
My former homeschool students would not be happy
after all the years I told them….too many ummmms!!!

I forgot to show you the inside…

SU An Open Heart

November 12, 2015

Finding the words to convey your sympathy to someone is one of the hardest things to do. Taking the time to send a card is just one way to show  you care. Here is a simple yet elegant card using the SU An Open Heart stamp set and the pretty crochet trim from Stampin’ Up.

SU An Open Heart Blues wCrochet Trim

Can you notice the subtle two colors on the branch behind the bird? I stamped the branch first in Lost Lagoon ink and then sponge daubered on some Night of Navy ink.
I also stamped the branch on the inside:

If you would like, you can make a more dramatic look to the branch by using a more diverse color like this one- I stamped it on Wild Wasabi first and then sponged on Night of Navy. I think I needed to be a little more “not so circular” daubing on it though now that I look at it…lol…I mean, really…LOL!

SU An Open Heart Two Panels

I love how these sentiments go together to share your feelings.

You can also use this set with the other versatile sentiments:

SU Serene Silhouettes

January 2, 2015

Oh my, I bet you all are as worn out as I am from the holidays! I think my dishwasher, washer, and dryer have never stopped running. It was wonderful to have the house full but I am enjoying this little piece of quiet this morning:)

I managed to get Heidi’s  Friday Mashup # 191 done but did not mash it up this week. But that’s okay…you can always pick one part of the challenge, too!

Create a project with a “Winter theme.

Create a project  with “Snowflakes.”

or

Mash it Up! and create a “Winter project with Snowflakes.”

I am in need of sympathy cards so I decided to use the SU Serene Silhouettes stamp set with its leafless winter branches to create a card with somber colors. I kind of went totally opposite of the light and airy theme with snowflakes.

I am currently fighting with my computer, iphone, and iphoto program so

please excuse the quality of the photo:(

SU Four Feathers with Thoughts and Prayers

I have classes this week (YEA!) so I wanted to make a few cards with the SU Four Feathers stamp set to show my girls. Feathers just remind me of soft, billowing, easy-going peacefulness. I thought they would pair well with a Thinking of You card.

This CAS card is in line with Team Tara’s colors at ColourMe #44 this round.

SU Four Feathers Sponged slanted

I sponged some Blushing Bride and Lost Lagoon on a masked off portion of my white cardstock then stamped my sentiment in Chocolate Chip ink. My feathers are stamped in Lost Lagoon and Blushing Bride to coordinate with the soft sponged background. I simply added a bow of brown and white baker’s twine to finish it off. Looking at this post- I think some scattered little pearls would look sweet…maybe I will add some later. But then again, it is completely safe for mailing this way…

I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead of you:)

SU Thoughts and Prayers

The Paper Players Challenge # 213

this week has some fall colors on the roster.

I just did a few leaf themed cards so thought I would go more somber with these earthtones.

I chose to do a sympathy card because

we are never quite prepared to make one when we need one.

I just met a very sweet friend, Tami, at my new stamping spot at the mall. We have been in touch via email for a few months- she always sends me such encouraging messages. I was so happy to finally get to meet her and stamp two times last week! I hope this card gives her a clean and simple idea of how to use this new set I just delivered to her:)

9/20/14 Thank you, JoAnne for the pick this week at the Paper Players:)

Cut Above Badge

Since I added a ribbon and button embellishment that finished off the card, I thought I may as well share another card with the crew over at Stampin’ Up Only Challenges # 105.
