SU Thinking of You card

Stampin’ Up Dear Doily Sympathy

February 11, 2018

I made these sympathy cards for a swap last week using the Stampin’ Up Dear Doily Bundle.
Sadly, I know a lot of us are having to use them as of late.
My prayer is all of you who are suffering loss will find comfort in the wonderful memories you have spent with your loved ones.

A comforting card to let someone know you care in a time of grief and loss. My Grandpa Rick, in his mid-nineties, just went to Heaven to meet up with my Grandma Lil on Saturday. December would have been 75 years of marriage for them. He was alone for the last two years awaiting the time when he would see her again. I rejoice because of his faith in Jesus and his eternal resting place in Heaven with Jesus and Grandma.

Stampin’ Up By The Bay Sale-a-Bration Gift

January 21, 2018

Good Monday Mornin’, friends! I have a sweet notecard for you today.

I made this card using a FREE stamp set you can get as a gift during Sale-a Bration!

You can see ALL the fun offerings for Sale-a-Bration HERE.

Of course, you know by now that I am loving my Rectangle Stitched Framelits.
And, I think the majority of the cards I make has a Stitched Shapes Frame in one way or another.
The stitches give a wonderful finished, professional look, don’t you agree?

The serene scene in this stamp set lends itself to a thinking of you/sympathy/get well card.
I used the Well Said Bundle for my sentiments. I will be using that one a lot on my cards!

Take a look at the Well Said Bundle:

In case your brain is like mine and finds it hard to read the die cut words …they are:

happy, you, birthday, thanks, baby, sympathy, hooray, love, wishes, miss, friend, bride, groom, and welcome
with a bird, a butterfly, posies, and leaves thrown in for good measure!

SU Serene Garden Sneak Peek

May 16, 2018

There is a beautiful new bundle in the upcoming catalog with a very appropriate name-
it is called Serene Garden. It is so lovely.
I used it to make this sympathy card with the new soft colors of Soft Seafoam and Petal Pink.

I love this bundle not only for its images but also for the ability to cut them out with coordinating dies. But, the part I really love is the corner “embossing” die! Isn’t that just awesome? We have a new embossing mat coming out for the Big Shot that I just ordered- I wonder how different it will look when I use it?

The colors are subtle on this card as I wanted a soothing palette for a sympathy card but the popped up flowers add that little bit of texture and dimension to finish of the card. We also have a new All Occasion stamp set called Itty Bitty Greetings coming out that can stand in for the retiring Teeny Tiny Wishes (I love them both- two that are necessary in my stamping room). And…the little die from the Lakeside Framelits is just the ticket for cutting out the little sentiments! A few little pearls on the ends adds a little texture as well.

SU Sheltering Tree

September 2, 2015

I looked out the window here in Pittsburgh and saw the colors changing on the trees and was reminded of the beautiful SU Sheltering Tree stamp set. I have never posted a card using this set so I made a “last days of summer” card.

It just so happens that Stampin’ Up Only Challenges # 130 has a FRIEND theme so I added the sweet sentiment about friendship found in the set.

SU Sheltering Tree OliveRed

I used a color palette of Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Real Red, and Early Espresso. The main Very Vanilla panel is 3 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ bordered 1/8″ larger with the Espresso and Red borders. My sentiment banner is 1/2″ bordered by 5/8″ Espresso. I like the look of thin borders:)

FYI: Sheltering Tree was carried over into the current annual catalog from last spring but in case you have not taken a serious look at it…here it is!
