SU World of Dreams

June 26, 2015

When I prepare for a Product Class, I end up thinking that stamp set is my favorite until another one soon takes its place. So, as of today, I am loving the SU World of Dreams stamp set. I played around with it again this morning when I saw Justin Krieger’s new site- Stamp Ink Paper Challenge. I missed his inaugural challenge but here I am with
Challenge #2 to use a sketch and some favorite goodies- Lost Lagoon and Rich Razzleberry cardstock and ink with the Windows Collection Framelits.

 Here is my card:

I colored my rhinestones with my Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities to add a little color coordination- they look really sweet:)

SU World of Dreams Watercolor Wash

June 21, 2015

Hope you all are having a wonderful Father’s Day celebrating your dad, husband, sons and son-in-laws in person or reliving fond memories you have had with them if they are gone. We have one kid on a cross country road trip and two kids working so hubby and I are having a relaxing day! He is a generous, thoughtful, hard-working man who undoubtedly has his three kids and wife on his mind all the time- we call him our roadie- always setting the stage for us.

It is funny how it is hard to even show him the gratitude he deserves for all he does for us. Nothing would really even convey it. But I have to say, he was so taken with the simple card he got today (you can see it here) …he took a photo of it and sent it to the kids. He even asked if I could frame it for his office!

I got him a Nespresso coffee maker with a milk frother, and he had a ball making us coffee this morning. Now, if I can convince him to let me take him for a gourmet hot dog today- it will be glorious. I guess I made out on HIS Father’s Day!

I wanted to show you another card we also did at our SU World of Dreams Product Class last week. My friend, Linda Heller, inspired me to try watercoloring washing on SU Shimmer Paper. I simply masked off the edges of the Shimmer Paper with Washi tape and brushed over the Shimmer Paper with Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie watercolor wash that I created from watered down ink refill drops- about 2 drops of refill ink with 10-12 drops of water. Let it dry or heat gently with your heat gun.
Carefully remove the washi tape and stamp!

You definitely can not see the shimmer in the photo but it has a cool, subtle look in person. I used the sentiment from SU Wetlands. This card could easily be done with masking and sponging on white cardstock as well.
I love the CAS look of it, don’t you?

SU World of Dreams- Pinspired!

June 17, 2015

I just shared a lovely morning with some great gals at a Product Class
for the SU World of Dreams stamp set.

Untitled-12

While I was planning the class, I spent a few minutes (that always turn into an hour) looking for inspiration. I designed this card using SU Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and Early Espresso inks on Very Vanilla cardstock:

SU World of Dreams Trio

The images are stamped on 1 3/8″ squares and bordered by 1 1/2″ Early Espresso squares. I loved how the card popped with the three colors on it. The sentiment  was cut out with the Decorative Label punch and adhered to the inside.
I did not even have to  stamp it straight- heeheehee:)

Thank you to Kathy at Idyllwildestudios for the PINSPIRATION!

SU World of Dreams with Thoughts and Prayers

February 16, 2015

Happy Monday, Peeps!

Just a quick Monday card today using Freshly Made Sketches #173.

FMS Final 173-001

I was playing around with the SU World of Dreams stamp set over the weekend for another project and had this “leftover” so I put it to good use. When I need some inspiration when creating a card,  I use google images to jumpstart my creativity. Just google the stamp set name and a plethora of ideas come up! Another way to get my creative juices flowing is to follow a sketch like this one. It gives me a starting point that helps me along in the process of finishing a card. I really liked this CAS one. I literally made my card in record time which is good because the hubby is waiting to take me on a little trip…so excited!
