SU The Open Sea Recycled

Oh, yes, Paper Players…I did it for your #140 challenge… I dug into the garbage last night and found this used coffee filter:

I rinsed it off and dried it overnight.

Then, I set to work today on using it somehow. It just seemed  perfect for the ledger in the SU The Open Sea set- a great masculine set I hope sticks around;)

  1. Hi Cindy, I love your coffee filter idea in combination with the open sea stamp set. Well, as a sailor I love just love the set itself as well. I’ll def try the coffee filter as well on one of my next cards. so thanks for the inspiration!
One question: What did you do to the Vanilly card stock with the ship on it? The background looks great. Did you just use the color spritzer and sponged the edges?

    1. Hi cestiafranz- so glad you liked the card! I just sponged the Vanilla CS all over just plopping it up and down. After I mounted it on the card- it still looked a bit too clean even though it was sponged (for some reason if I had tried to make it uniform-it would not have turned out!) so I rubbed just the corners with the sponge again. I haven’t used a spritzer yet- on my To-Do List;) Thanks for the kind comments!

  2. Oh my goodness….literally out of the trash! This is awesome! Works perfectly for this wonderfully masculine card! LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing it with us at the Paper Players!

  3. Now that is recycling at it’s best! Love that you rescued that coffee filter from the trash to create such a cool accent for your card. Looks perfect with the masculine design as well. Thanks so much for joining us at the Paper Players this week! 🙂

  4. Amazing use of the coffee filter. The fact that it was used gives it a nice “patina”, LOL! Thanks for sharing your beautiful creation with The Paper Players!
