This is such a Clean and Simple card, huh? That is what I thought when I set out to make it. One of my stamping gals mentioned at class tonight if I intentionally had a bottle of wine in the rack in the dining room that mimicked the SU Gorgeous Grunge we were using…the label had the splotches with the straight lines behind them. Oh, I wish I had thought of that…nonetheless, it did inspire me right that very moment but I had to wait to act on that lightbulb going off in my head.
So after, three classes of intricate stamping and cutting with my wonderful friends, I cleaned up the stations with all intentions of going straight to bed. But, no…I just had to whip up that simple little card with a tree trunk and some splotches of leaves for Sandy’s challenge at The Paper Players # 161– Create a Fall-themed Card. You know, Clean and Simple to help me to wind down from my stamping classes that afternoon and evening. Well, an hour and a half later, I finally took a photo after stamping multiple cards that ended up with a little mess up on each one like a fingerprint or a halo. Anyway, here is my card inspired by the wine label:
Card Recipe:
STAMPS: SU Gorgeous Grunge, SU Take Care, SU Truly Grateful, SU Paper Pumpkin # 1
INK: SU Tangerine Tango, SU Crushed Curry, SU Soft Suede, SU Old Olive
PAPER: SU Tangerine Tango, SU Chocolate Chip, SU Old Olive
Great tree! I love how you’ve splotched the leaves!
Thank you, Janelle. I definitely want to play with that splotchy stamp again, and the other neat images.
Really liked the grass texture icons and also the furry cuisohn icons Love icons, I’ll use them a lot for my folders on my computer, to keep me organised. But great for websites too of course. Thanks for sharing.
What a creative tree. Love it!
Thanks for stopping by, Kristie. I really like that grunge set- I find myself using it a lot;)
Love, love, love this Miss Cindy!
Thanks, dear Bernadette. I want to come visit the new Studio B!
LOVE this….so creative! I wish I had that tree trunk so I could make one myself!
LeAnne, thank you! I kept drawing a tree trunk that looks absolutely terrible, and I thought don’t I have some kind of stamp that looks like a tree trunk? Search was on…then I found the tree branch from Take Care! I just masked off the little leaves;)
Oh my goodness, Cindy is this ever clever! Great use of colors and stamp sets–wow! So glad you shared it with us at The Paper Players!
Thanks so much, Nance. You blew me away with the pick! So happy you liked the tree!
This is amazing! Who would have thought? I love the way you’ve used Gorgeous Grunge to make leaves on the tree!
Thanks, Heather. It was definitely that wine label with its Gorgeous Grunge foliage!
This is absolutely genius! I love it in every way. I think I might run down to my craft room and case this right away! Thank you for sharing your beautiful creation!
