Lisa has a fun challenge for us this week at the Friday Mashup #152…
1. Create a project using a “Nautical Theme”.
2. Create a “One Layer Card”
3. Or mash it up and create a project with the “One Layer Card with a Nautical Theme”.
SU has a few current “nautical” sets, and the Design Team came up with varied ways to use them this week. I chose to use the shells from the SU By The Tide stamp set. To mash it up and keep it one layered, I sponged four squares to be the frames for my shells. To be honest, I wanted to use four different images but each time I went through the sponging and then masked off the white border with a post-it note to stamp just a portion of the image, it did not stamp a clean line at my mask so…I just picked one of the image that fit in my square!
STAMPS: SU By the Tide, SU Loving Thoughts
INK: SU Bermuda Bay, SU Pastels Chalks for sponging
PAPER: SU Whisper White
Great idea to sponge a couple colors on the squares… adds great depth!
I love the sponging you created on your card. It it perfect for adding “dimension” to your card without adding a layer. Great job!
Beautiful! I agree with Avery, the sponging gives the card extra dimension and looks fantastic!
