Jen Brum has a CAS sketch/image challenge this week
at Freshly Made Sketches #209:
I was immediately taken by the TREE and used it as my focal point.
I used the awesome SU Wonderland Stamp set- yes, I indeed needed it even though I have the SU Lovely as a Tree. The trees are just majestic.
I had used up my snowflake patterned paper from my Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum Pack and had a lot of candy cane striped paper to use.
I came across a lovely card done by Raquelle Clifton that truly inspired my card as you can see here because I could use the striped pattern!
I used Real Red cardstock to match up with the Fancy Foil candy cane stripe. I love Garden Green on Christmas cards, and it seemed appropriate with the pine tree. To keep my vellum in place without having adhesive show through I only put adhesive under the part covered by the tree panel and then used some silver brads in the corners. Adding a third brad to the sentiment I used from the SU Happy Scenes stamp set fulfilled my “rule of threes.”
And the sentiment fit inside the Itty Bitty Banners framelits!
To finish it off, I added the Smoky Slate snowflakes to the inside.
Here is a look at the SU Wonderland Stamp set:
Fabulous Christmas card and those trees are so gorgeous! Love that patterned paper, too! Thanks so much for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches.
Beautiful card! The foil really brings it up a notch. I like the fold of your card, too.
