Stampin’ Up! Seaside Notions Bokeh Technique Video Tutorial

June 17, 2020

Summer is almost “officially” here! I used the Bokeh Technique to create this fun summer card.

In photography, bokeh is an aesthetic quality produced with a blurry, out-of-focus background with a clear and focused focal image in a photo.  I always seem to see the technique used in photos around Christmas time with lights on the trees twinkling in the background of a photo. In stamping, you can easily create a bokeh effect. Here is a video showing how I did it!

Great variety of sentiments in this Stampin’ Up! Seaside Notions stamp set:)

*Note: I used Retired Glimmer Enamel Dots on this card but you can add other coordinating products:)

Measurements:
Coastal Cabana Card Base: 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ on 11″ side
Highland Heather Border on outside: 4″ x 5-1/4″ , sentiment border strip: 1-1/4″ x 3-3/4″
Whisper White Outside: 3-3/4″ x 5″, Inside: 4″ x 5-1/4″, Sentiment: 1″ x 3-3/4″, scraps for shell and seahorse

Here is the first bokeh technique I ever did with chalk inks…over five years ago!

Thanks for buzzing by, friends…
