SU Bountiful Border/Tin of Cards Notecard File Box #2

July 25, 2016

I hope you saw my  Notecard File Box in my last post…

For our Product Class last week, the girls took home either the SU Tin of Cards or the SU Bountiful Border stamp set after making the file box and eight mailable notecards with envelopes- two each of four designs. All four cards have the stripe patterned DSP from the new SU Neutrals Designer Series Paper Stack and three scattered White Perfect Accents– super cute embellishments .

Both of these cards are in the landscape position. The first one uses a sentiment from the SU Tin of Cards and a flower/leaves from the Bountiful Border with a Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush palette.

This next  card uses the star and another sentiment from the SU Tin of Cards. The green dots come from the SU Bountiful Border stamp set. The color palette is Pacific Point, Crushed Curry, Watermelon Wonder, and Cucumber Crush.

To Make these Notecards:

Cut card bases 6 ¾” x 4 7/8   and score at 3 3/8”

Front White panels are 3 1/8” x 4 5/8”

 DSP is cut to 1/2” x 4 5/8 (Happy Birthday)  or  1/2″ x 3 1/8″ (Congrats)

Basic Black border is 3/4” x 4 5/8”  (Happy Birthday)  or  3/4″ x 3 1/8″ (Congrats)

To make Banner Pennant:

Cut together the above 1/2″ x 3 1/8″ DSP with its black border in Triple Banner Punch

and trim to fit on the Congrats card.

Inside of cards is 4 5/8” x 3 1/8” Whisper White Cardstock.

Scatter 3 White Perfect Accents on each card as desired.

Buzz by later this week to see the other two cards…cindy-bee-only.jpg

I wanted to share it again at Can You Case It # 79 since it goes with the last post…

SU Tin of Cards/Bountiful Border NoteCard File Box #1

July 23, 2015

Hello friends!

As you are reading this…I am at my first day of  the SU Convention!! And, Can You Case It # 79 understands how busy this week is…and I knew it would be so I saved this to show to you this week!

CYCI79-300x253

I  recently had the awesome opportunity to demonstrate a project at our last Demonstrator Meeting up on the big screen- nervous but shows I may in the future get around to doing a video for you all! Thankfully, the crowd was so encouraging and Linda and Matt Heller did all the videography!

I made a Notecard File Box using the SU Tin of Cards and the SU Bountiful Border stamp sets. I did two different versions. The first one uses the File Tab Edgelits to make the dividers and the SU You’re So Sweet stamp set to adorn the front. The second one uses a floral punch, and DSP so it is a Tic-Tac-Toe at the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge #6.

SU Tin of Cards, You're So Sweet BOX

This one uses the Oval Punch and Scallop Oval Punch to make the divider labels.

SU Tin of Cards Pansy BOX

SU Pansy Flower on File Box

As you can see, I chose a fresh, bright color palette of SU Pacific Point, Crushed Curry, Watermelon Wonder, and Cucumber Crush.

To make this simple little file box, follow these instructions:

Start with a 9 ½” x 9 ¾” piece of cardstock

On the 9 ¾” side, score at 4 ½” and 6 ½”

On the 9 ½” side, score at 2 in and 7 ½”

Cut in on 4 ½” and 6 ½” score lines up to the 2” score line on both sides. Trim off a little sliver piece from both sides of each flap to facilitate tight corners that fold in easily. Keep the box flush with a hard surface as you put it together.  I used Snail Adhesive to put the box together since it is not holding really heavy stuff. But, you can use tear and tape or FUSE adhesive to put the box together for extra hold.

I prefer the look of finished front corners so I wrapped the shorter front flaps over the taller back flaps. This also helps you see a line when you can cut the angles on the sides with your scissors from the front to the back. But if you do it with the taller flaps coming to the front, you will still be okay:) I talk from experience!

SU File Box side view

Decorate the front with DSP cut to 5 ¼” x 3”

Make a flower using the Pansy Punch and leaves using the Fun Flower Punch or
Use You’re So Sweet “Just For You” image.

The dividers in the upper photo are die cut with the File Tab Edgelits with the same width of 5 3/8″ but with staggering heights of 4″, 4 1/8″, 4 1/4″, and 4 3/8″. Alternate each divider from front to back with the two different file tab edglits.

The dividers in the the second box with the Pansy Flower are all cut to 4″ x 5 3/8″ and corner rounded on each side.

Wouldn’t you like to see the cards inside?

Well, buzz by the next few days to see them…cindy-bee-only.jpg

SU Bravo with New Bohemian DSP and Boho Chic Embossing Folder

May 29, 2015

You saw that fun Bohemian Designer Series Paper on my Paper Share Post– You can see it HERE.  I wanted to showcase its rich, vibrant colors with this Congratulations card- perfect for the graduation parties coming up really soon!

IMG_2898

I LOVE a paper with a ton of colors to play with- this one has Bermuda Bay, Blackberry Bliss, Island Indigo, Rich Razzleberry, and Delightful Dijon with Very Vanilla as its neutral base on some of the papers. The new Delightful Dijon color is making my sorrow of losing More Mustard a few years back a little less severe.

SU Bravo Bohemian

My first step in making this card was using the NEW Boho Chic embossing folder on the front of the card. I stamped the sentiment with the SU Bravo stamp set.  My Stampin’ Write markers worked perfectly to do a little sprinkling of dots to jazz up the sentiment a bit. Since it was a photopolymer, I actually cut the stamp apart so I could use multiple colors without having to mask any words! I cut it cleanly without trimming so it would pop right back together again when I want it whole!

I cut the banner with the new Triple Banner punch that can cut up to 2″- I will be using that a lot for sure! Various stars were cut out with framelits from the Star set- big one, the Scentsational Season (retired)- smallest one, and another medium sized one, I can’t place right now.

SU Bravo Bohemian Inside

I  also used the SU Bravo stamp set for the inside sentiment. You can just stamp the words or add  a simple pocket holder for a gift card or money.

bravo

The  inside bottom was decorated with stamps from the New SU Bohemian Borders stamp set. I am very excited that Stampin’ Up designed and created a DSP, an embossing folder, and a stamp set that coordinate!

Getting excited…..We can order soon- JUNE 2!

SU Be the Star for my Boy!

April 23, 2015

Let’s go ‘Canes!

You could say my husband’s alma mater, the University of Miami, holds a dear spot in his heart (and our driveway sometimes)…

Raisin' Cane

and now…

my oldest son (27) is graduating in May with his Legal Master Degree in Real Property (Real Estate)  from the University of Miami Law School after obtaining his law degree two years ago. Little did I know when I started homeschooling the little lad more than two decades ago that he would end up in school FOREVER!

I used the SU Be the Star stamp set, star framelits, and Lucky Stars embossing folder to make this simple little card to attach to his UM gift in two weeks.

Of course, I only have this done early  because of the

SU Only Challenges # 120 – Team Colors!

I also used the Pals Paper Arts # 249  sketch challenge this round that shows a square card- mine is 4 1/4″ so it will fit in a clear envelope that attaches to the gift.

SU Your Perfect Day

March 31, 2015

Who says the SU Your Perfect Day stamp set is just for Wedding cards? I used this neat font to create a Graduation card for the special guy of my daughter’s college roomie. He will be graduating in May with his Nursing degree from my daughter’s and my alma mater Indiana University of PA. Of course, I used the school colors Crimson (ahem, retired Raspberry Ripple) and Gray for my colors.  I don’t think he follows my blog so I believe I am safe to post…

I used the sketch at Pals Paper Arts # 245.

ppa 245

I also “loosely” cased the sketch on the Can You Case It Card Challenge #63 site.

CYCI63-232x300

I cased the star die cut and a simple sentiment. Ok, I might be pushing the sketch a bit …but I wanted to share how easy it would be to CASE this card with any school colors for a guy or gal. I just used a sticky note to mask off the little hearts at the end of the flourish on the “C” as well as the “TWO” that was beside the “TO YOU,” and I had a great all occasion Congrats! Here is a photo of the stamp image before I masked and stamped:
