Stampin’ Up Healing Hugs

November 26, 2018

Pssst…

Don’t forget that the Online Extravaganza is up and running!

I made a sweet Get Well card using the SU Healing Hugs stamp set.

Here is a close up of the gold metallic thread and sequins.

I even got fancy and did the inside!

To get the leaves to be behind the flower I used a masking technique.
Here are a few pics of the steps.

First, you stamp a flower on a sticky note and then fussy cut it out.

Next you stamp the flower on the panel.

Next, place the mask over the stamped flower and stamp the leaves and another flower.

Use the mask again on the other flower so you can stamp leaves that appear to be under the flower again.
To be honest, since my mask was not absolutely perfect when I stamped the second flower- see the vanilla space between the flowers above?
I just figured out a way to cover it. And that boo-boo became a great element of the card, don’t you think?

I used the Lakeside Framelits to die cut the sentiment.
I wanted it shorter so I just cut it and then laid it closer to the right end and die cut it again:) I also used the Petals and More Thinlits to make the lattice detailed die cut under the sentiment.

SU Botanical Bliss Bundle

November 5, 2018

Oh, how I love Blackberry Bliss although I did call it Blackberry Mess last week at class
since it seems to travel all over the place when we are using it…LOL.

I used the die with the lovely floral design.

I simply used the one die above to cut out the flower and
then another die below to cut out the bottom around the leaves to get a free standing flower.

I also die cut Mossy Meadow leaves and adhered them to the Blackberry Bliss leaves to give the contrast.

The Layered Leaves embossed panel sets the stage for the card. To jazz up the focal image,
I embossed the sentiment in gold, added  a vellum stitched oval, a scalloped gold foil border, and scattered some gold sequins.
The Wood Textures DSP with the Gold Metallic Edged Ribbon gives the card a shabby chic feel,
don’t you think?

Simple stamped images finish off the inside of the card:)

SU Beautiful Blizzard

October 4, 2018

I hear some people have spotted snow flurries already, can you believe that?
Well, today, all of you are going to see snowflakes…

I used the Beautiful Blizzard Bundle to make this Clean and Simple card that is a “winter” card.
It can be sent as soon as the flurries fly!
It would make a great birthday card or encouragement card, don’t you think?

I designed this card with a larger border around the stamped panel.
The card base front is 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, the Bermuda Bay is 4″ x 5-1/4″,
then I skipped the next layer (that would be 3-3/4″ x 5″)
and  finished it off with the white stamped panel of 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″.

The 4″ x 5″ die is super cool- pun intended. You get a blizzard of snowflakes with a one run through the Big Shot.

SU Flourish Filigree Trio of Cards Video Tutorial

October 1, 2018

I have a video for you today using the Flourish Filigree Stamp Set and the Pretty Label Punch.

I loved how Judy May placed a little bit of ribbon off the bottom of the tag on one of her cards.
I was inspired to do the same, doesn’t it add so much to the card?

Below is the Real Red/Silver version in landscape position but with the stamp in the same place on the Stamparatus.
I made up a few different versions but only had to get the stamp placement done once on the Stamparatus!

Here is the Thank You card I did for my mother-in-law’s passing last month.

Measurements for all three cards:
Card Base for the  Red and the Elegant Eggplant 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ on 8-1/2″ side and the Card Base for the Black/Gold  4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ on the 11″
The next layer in from the card base is 4″ x 5-1/4″(gold/silver/eggplant)
The stamped panel is 3-1/2″ x 5″

The HOLIDAY CATALOG is LIVE! with SU Ribbon of Courage

September 5, 2018

The Holiday Catalog is LIVE!

You can view it HERE.

Catalog Day is always a big day but TODAY I had the BEST news
from one of my dear stamping friends, Donna M.
We got to celebrate her surgery being a success after rigorous treatment.
We loved every minute of making this card with Donna tonight at class.

Praise the Lord for his Goodness!

We used the Stamparatus to Hinge Stamp the sentiment perfectly.
I added bling to accent the beautiful detailed image of the ribbon.
The Support Ribbon Framelits also have an adorable flower and leaf.
Take a look:

The stamp images are wonderful, too! The sentiments are fabulous!
