SU Mingle All the Way Thanksgiving Favor with SU Four Feathers

Every month (actually, every day)  I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the girls who attend my classes. I am truly blessed that they have taken time out of their busy lives to craft with me as their friend and demonstrator. As a little show of my appreciation, every month I make a favor for my girls. For November classes, I made these Thanksgiving favors for them, and I am sharing them with the fabulous team over at The Paper Players #222 this week.

SU Mingle all the Way Close up Thanksgiving favor

oops…I see a stray ink spot on this one…a little extra love:)

I used the envelope punch board “Gift Card” measurements using a 5″ square piece of DSP and stuffed them with a small candy bar.  I used up a bunch of “leftover” white cardstock from another project to create the belly band, too. The girls would be proud!

I stamped the cute sentiment from the SU Mingle All The Way stamp set with an old but still juicy Autumn Leaves Kaliedacolor inkpad. I added Cajun Craze inked feathers from the SU Four Feathers stamp set that were a breeze to cut out with the coordinating framelits! A simple twine bow applied with a glue dot finished off the favor.

These were really simple to make- and I was glad to since I made 44 of them! You still have time to make them for your friends and family at your Thanksgiving festivities!

Here are three stragglers left behind…who knows who will get one- maybe Mr. Brown (Bob) when he drops off my SU order today!

New SU @So Social with SU Spiral Flower Die Gift Boxes

This week’s Paper Pals Arts # 202 challenge features

Real Red, Bermuda Bay, and Crumb Cake- a great color combo!

PPA202

I had just used the cute SU Kraft Boxes (# 124106) at class this week with red felt spiral cut flowers for a Mother’s Day gift box. I decided I wanted to use the box and 1 1/4″ Burlap Ribbon as my Crumb Cake color for this challenge. We used classic red and black for our mothers but my mind went to my daughter who is graduating in one week from today with her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. I wanted to make a fresh and trendy gift box for her so I decided to use Bermuda Bay,  Real Red, and the Polka Dotted Kaleidoscope DSP.  I also used a new stamp set called @So Social that will be in the upcoming catalog  available for order on June 2  It is soooooooo cute! It was given out as a Prize Patrol at the Catalog Premier last week. It has 21 different trendy hashtags and @ greetings.  The Word Window and Modern Label Punches worked well to highlight the on trend sentiments.  My daughter will be impressed with how hip it is!

Below is the gift box we made at class this week for Mother’s Day that inspired me to make another one for my daughter. We used the classic SU Modern Medley DSP. The SU Spiral Flower Bigz Die (# 129379) is AMAZING! It cuts out beautifully, and felt is so unbelievably easy to wind around making these beautiful roses in seconds! The Delicate Doily Sizzlet L Die (# 126999) is still available on the Retired List. We used SU Teeny Tiny Wishes and SU Label Love cut out with the Modern Label Punch on this one.

SU Spiral Flower Black Box

Two different looks using the same idea- something classic for an older lady and something trendy for the younger lady! Of course, it could go either way for either lady, too.

A little tip: to keep the burlap ribbon attached to the box without permanently adhering it, I used velcro dots so the box can be opened and even recycled again for another gift:)

SU Tag It- I DIG YOU

I am still alive…it seems I will indeed survive this move. I have been unpacking and preparing for my classes Wednesday and Thursday…can’t wait to see my girls this week! Here is a fun little Valentine’s Treat using the SU Tag It stamp set. I purchased some little shovels in bulk, placed some peppermint candies in them…and ta-da…sweet treat! As you can see, one has a special bow I made at my friend Stacey Ailes house this weekend. I set out to make all of them that way…and then I realized I had to make 30 of them…lol.

SU Perfectly Preserved with Scentsational Season

The Friday MashUp # 128 this week has a challenge to use a fall food and paper piecing. I am sure it is a complete surprise to you that I decided to use the retired SU Perfectly Preserved stamp set! I paired it with another “I don’t know why it is retired” SU set Scentasational Season. I love these sets with their matching framelits! I covered up the snowflake on the mug with a popped up apple to coordinate with the instant apple cider packet in this simple holder. I embellished it with a cinnamon stick. I also corner punched the cider packet to just put a little finish on it.  I technically did not mash it up with paper piecing but I did add a piece of some DSP;)

SU Perfectly Perserved with Scentsational Season Cider Holder

Card Recipe:
STAMPS: SU Perfectly Preserved and SU Scentsational Season (both retired)
INK: SU Real Red, SU Garden Green, SU More Mustard (retired)
PAPER: SU Real Red, SU Polka Dot Parade DSP, SU Whisper White
ACCESSORIES: SU Burlap Ribbon, SU Real Red Designer Button (on Clearance Rack now!), jute twine, cinnamon stick, SU Stampin’ Dimensionals
TOOLS: SU Framelits with the above stamp sets

Here is a quick tutorial:

Start with an 8.5″ square and cut diagonally in half from two points across from each other diagonally. You do this by lining up the two points in the cutting groove of a trimmer. You will end up with two equal triangles. Place the longer side of one of the triangles against the top edge of the Scoring Tool and  score at 4″ and 8.” Corner round all three points of the triangle. Fold the scored areas over each other to form a pocket that is held together by sticky strip.

SU Mixed Bunch Candy Favors

Hey Everyone!! It’s been a busy last few days in Utah at the Stampin’ Up Convention! Having a ball meeting up with old friends and meeting new ones- the stamping community is just so fun! I will be posting some fun stuff in the next few days. But I wanted to share this cute little treat with all of you wonderful subscribers to my blog. You all make my day when You leave a comment or jump on board… blessings to you all:)

Remember those fun little colorful circles I used last week with the SU Oh, Hello set? Well, here are the favors I mentioned in my post.  I made these for my wonderful stamping crew with SU Mixed Bunch.

Card Recipe:
STAMPS: SU Mixed Bunch, SU Bloomin’ Marvelous
INK: SU Bermuda Bay, SU Daffodil Delight, SU Melon Mambo
PAPER: SU Whisper White
TOOLS: SU 1 in. Circle Punch, SU Secret Garden Framelits, SU 3/4 in. punch, SU Bitty Butterfly punch

* I used Rite-Aid brand peanut butter cups that had a solid gold covering without a brand name stamped on them like a Reese’s has- I  actually liked them much better than a Reese’s- they tasted more like a peanut butter melt-a-way! Rolos would be perfect too…just find a circle punch that fits a candy you have!
