SU Secret Garden

SU Secret Garden with Delightful Dozen

Happy Monday, friends! I fell in love again with the SU Secret Garden stamp set this weekend. It is just so pretty and comes with framelits that make cutting a breeze! I peeked over at Freshly Made Sketches # 129  and was inspired to make this card for my mommy.

SU Secret Garden with En Francais Sympathy

Sadly, it seems I have needed to make more of these cards lately…but as I make one I think how the simple gesture of a card at a time of loss can mean more to someone than the sender may ever know. As I prepared for my week, I thought I would post this card for the Dynamic Duos Black Tie Challenge # 79 of Black and Smoky Slate hoping it might inspire someone to make a card that is sometimes a challenge to come up with at the moment you need it.

On a lighter note…as I posted it on the Design Team site- I thought, “Wow, everyone went with a Christmas Theme this week.” Ahem, note to self: read the fine print- DESSERT OPTION of Christmas. However, let this be a sample of OPTION- I guess I opted out…lol. Will you choose the dessert option of Christmas when you play this week? I can’t wait to see what you come up with this challenge…Go on over and check us out at the Dynamic Duos Challenge Blogspot.

SU Secret Garden with Bring on the Cake

I loved the blues and black on Karen Meadie’s Card for the MUSE Card Club Challenge # 36 this week. Her card inspired me to create a panel of flowers in hues of blues so I used my Kaleidacolor Blue Breeze Ink Pad to stamp the flowers. I decided on black solid rhinestones for my pop of black since my butterflies just were not fluttering for me tonight. I matched up my rainbow of blue inks with SU Pacific Point and Bermuda Bay. I added a simple sentiment from SU Bring on the Cake and that’s it for tonight, dear friends;)

Here is Karen’s lovely card:

SU Secret Garden with En Francais

I used Sandy’s sketch from the Paper Players # 164 and the colors and wet embossing (for the flower) from Dynamic Duos # 71  to make this card. I decided on a Birthday card since that seems to be the one most people are asking me to make for them these days…

SU Secret Garden Sympathy

I almost forgot about the beautiful colors at Pals Paper Arts # 171 this week! I wasn’t sure if  I would have time to get a card done on Monday morning so I went to bed last night thinking of SU Baked Brown Sugar and Calypso Coral hoping for an inspiration in my dreams;)

When I got up, I remembered The Friday MashUp # 127 is preparing  this week for October’s National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month thinking of  those who have suffered the loss an infant or pregnancy. Heidi has asked participants to create a thinking of you/condolence card and donate it to a charity or you can send one to her. I thought the colors were perfect for a solemn condolence card. I got out my SU Secret Garden and sat down at my crafting desk. This is what I came up with:

Thanks, Heidi, for bringing this to our attention.

I am going to pass this one along to our local charity in my hometown.
