SU Happy Day

SU Timeless Talk with Happy Day

Well, I have a little secret to reveal…I thought I might keep it to myself but thought you might find out and think badly of me…so, I will just come right out and tell you. I finished my card for Dynamic Duos # 92 Bold and Cheery Challenge with Midnight Muse and Rose Red, only to find out…I used Primrose Petals!!!

The really sad part if it is my wonderful upline brought me a piece of Rose Red to our meeting on Sunday because I had mine on order! After stamping my sentiment twice due to smudging, and making up the card, taking multiple photos trying to capture the essence of the colors (the neutral Sahara Sand is so pretty but hard to photograph)…I noticed the piece of Rose Red sitting there patiently waiting to take a part in the card. Needless to say, I am going to pretend I used a color similar because I did not have Rose Red. I must say, during the late night hours that I tend to keep Primrose Petals and Rose Red look pretty close…until you see the Design Team cards with the brighter Rose Red! Anyhow…here ya go…

SU Positively Chevron and Happy Day Unite…

Caution…this post could make you dizzy. My head is spinning after taking photos of it- trying to capture the essence of the card with Chevrons waving up and down and side to side. But it was worth it- I love chevrons! I was inspired to make this card by Laurie Willison at the MUSE Card Club #33. Here is her CAS card:

The design was sooo cool. I pulled out the dark blue and white as colors in my card and used the same sentiment. I wanted to go nautical but I could not pull it off. So, instead…I used the colors at Pals Paper Arts #170  this week to create a card with a bottom panel that is completely stamped like Laurie’s with the “envelope” style top in white showcasing the sentiment and some embellishments. Hope you like it…and do chevrons drive you bonkers sometimes when you look at them?

SU Positively Chevron and Happy Day Close up

It is hard to see the contrast of the SU Early Espresso and the Midnight Muse but boy do they look nice together. I just kept thinking of a navy blazer with brass buttons and brown shoes- made me smile thinking of my two handsome sons who clean up quite nicely;)

SU Happy Day with Madison Avenue

Oh, I loved the colors and design of Laurie Willison- the designer for MUSE Card Club # 29 this week. I usually try to pick a part of the card that inspires me but I loved so many on her card this week- the colors, the panel flush with the bottom edge, the embossed panel, and the rounded edge on one corner…oh, and the flowers.

SU Flower Shop and Happy Day with some Washi

Addicted to CAS # 19 has a SUMMER challenge this week and nothing speaks summer more to me than flowers. Now, if you checked our trash yesterday and noticed the dead hanging baskets, you would not believe me! Let’s just say I really enjoy them the first week or so I get them but have a tendency to neglect them. So, those of you who have a green and attentive thumb, I applaud you. You would think I would have inherited something from my mom who has had the same flower pots growing for many years that she hauls back and forth form PA to FLA every year!

I used the SU Flower Shop stamp set with its abundance of adorable hearty pansies that usher in summer! I picked the pansy with a homespun look to go with the Gingham Garden Washi tape.  Although there are a few elements on this card, I often think of Clean and Simple as a way of looking at things. For example, all the lines are clean  and the elements are simple- some tape, a pop of dimension on the middle of the flower, and a candy dot to finish of the “smile”. What do you think, would you consider this CAS although it has layers, etc?
