SU Happy Hour

SU Happy Hour

I played along with the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches # 157

and the striking colors at ColourMe # 41.

Although the colors Cherry Cobbler and Hello Honey are great colors, I was stumped for a bit on what kind of card to make with them. I decided, I guess… on a notecard- could be a “just thinking of you” or maybe a thank you card. CAS since I had a house full of my kids this weekend and just had a few minutes to play around in the craft room.

SU Happy Hour with a Sneak Peek of the New Kaleidoscope DSP

Here is a Sneak Peek of some of the NEW Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper from the upcoming Occasions Catalog ready for order TODAY -January 3rd. It sure is full of vibrant colors and geometric designs.  I ordered it early when I saw some neat cards floating around the blogosphere showcasing its fun appeal.  I decided it was perfect for my Friday Mashup Challenge # 141  where I am asking you creative artists to do a sketch and/or some kind of “TIME” theme since we have started a New Year this week! I “Mashed It Up” on my card with the time theme and the sketch, what are you going to do with this challenge?

I pulled out some retired Halloween DSP and used a spooky spider theme. I did not have any spider punches and at first put a bat on the circle but did not really like it. So while I was out running errands… I stopped in a craft store looking for a lil ol’ spider to adorn my card. Ha! I found a bunch in a pack (with a 50% off coupon) and popped one on my card. They are so cool- all furry and sparkly- not cheap plastic. I could not resist putting them on the wall behind my card. I am just waiting for my hubby to jump when he walks past the shelf on the way to his Man Cave…

SU Happy Hour

I always thought this set was so cute so I decided to use it for Freshly Made Sketches # 84. I was not sure if the sketch was set in stone like this one with just a banner going across horizontally pointing to a sentiment but it seemed all of the DT members used an image on the banner (except for Cindy and Linda) so I used an image as well. I tried to show a close-up of the olive to show the touch of bling…it is so bright and shiny in person;)
