SU Mother’s Day Card

Stampin’ Up Tea Together with Tea Time Framelits- FREE Sale-a-Bration Gift

January 28, 2019

Happy Monday to you, friends…! I am set for Mother’s Day!

Ha! Looking at the photo…I think I could have made my saucer out of DSP, too…

I love that the Tea Room Specialty Designer Series Paper in the Annual Catalog goes beautifully
with the SU Tea Together Stamp Set in the Occasions Catalog!
Simply stamp the teapot on the DSP and die cut with the Sale-a-bration Tea Time Framelits.
Yes, you can get the Coordinating Framelits as a Free Sale-a Bration Gift with a $100 purchase:)

But, remember Sale-a-Bration has many other Free Gifts with a $50 purchase, too!

I used a beautiful die from the Rose Trellis Thinlits to jazz up the inside.
Can’t wait to give this to my mom- she is tea-riffic mom- my best friend!

SU Perfect Mix for Mother’s Day or Valentine’s Day!

May 9, 2017

Don’t let this cute stamp set get away! I think the SU Perfect Mix was the first set in the Occasions catalog that I just had to have…it is just so clean and cute…however, it took me until Retirement month to play with it in class with my awesome stamping group!!!

It is a “perfect” stamp set for Mother’s Day, Valentine’s Day, or a just because card for a friend.

My girls chose their image and sentiment, cut the scallop borders from the black cardstock under the DSP, and covered up the holes with the DSP.  They wrapped three different pieces of  6″ black baker’s twine around the front panel and adhered it to the Whisper White card base. Cute images/sentiments were stamped in black and accented with coloring with the Watercolor pencils. Of course, the images were die cut with the Stitched Shapes Framelits. It was a quick and simple card after making this card and this card that had a bit of die cutting and stamping involved…heeheehee.

SU That’s the Tag Bundle split up!

May 6, 2017

Mother’s Day is just a week away…time to get that Mother’s Day card done! If you have the SU That’s the Tag bundle, you are all set…if you don’t have it, you can get it now for a discount as it is retiring!

Yes, the bundle has been split so you get it for even a better price buying the thinlits called TIMELESS TAGS and the stamp THAT”S THE TAG separately.

Check it out HERE and HERE.

I cut out a black daisy from a 3 1/4″ black square. I also cut out a yellow daisy from a 3″ yellow square and saved  the middle of the flower. I glued a white piece of cardstock between the black and yellow square. I inlaid the black daisy cut out inside the yellow oval against the white cardstock. I glued the yellow middle into the black daisy. I also cut out the green leaves using the same daisy thinlit and inlaid the leaves into the black daisy. You could also die cut a blue sky to go around the daisy!

I die cut the butterflies out of some black card stock and glued each one onto the yellow square and added some pearls. On the inside, I just die cut the butterflies on the white and used the negative.

A simple card with a WOW but a little die cutting and puzzle piecing for you to do:)

SU Mother’s Love

April 3, 2015

Hello there, friends.

Blessed wishes to you all this Good Friday morning as we ponder and reflect upon HIS sacrifice for us. I am so very grateful that God so loved us that he would give up his very own son for us. And that Jesus was obedient and suffered for our sins on the cross. The story never grows old, it is fresh every day for me, for you, and for anyone who desires to know him. May you have a joyous Easter weekend.

When I think of Jesus, I often think how my mom epitomizes so many of the beautitudes he taught us. She is truly a wonderful woman who raised me while quietly displaying a servant’s heart and an overflowing love I hope I have  shown to my children. I just loved the sentiment in the SU Mother’s Love stamp set- a simple yet bold handwritten font – perfect for my mom. I decided to make her a “just because” card even though it is not actually Mother’s Day- we should celebrate moms everyday just like Good Friday, Easter, and Christmas should be a daily celebration!

I used the colors from ColourQ #285 this week. I did not have the retired colors Kiwi Kiss or Cool Caribbean so I subbed in Pear Pizzazz and Coastal Cabana.

SU Mother's Love CQ

SU Mother's Love CQ Inside

This stamp set is a two-step stamp set with the option of adding a watercolor look with the “fill in” stamps. For this reason, you may decide upon the photopolymer stamps for the ease of two-step stamping. If you are a die-hard block stamper, just use your trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig for perfect alignment. I also pulled out my Large Scallop Edgelit- I had not used it in a while and forgot how it adds a great touch to a card!

You could also so easily and beautifully color with your Aquapainters and Blender pens. On this card, I chose to color in my flowers and leaves with my Blendabilities (sniff, sniff- love them.) Look at all the stamps in the set…I added in the butterfly from the SAB set, Nature’s Perfection- I thought it was perfect with the stamps! So, if you got it during Sale-a-Bration this year, you can pair it with this stamp set:)
