SU Polka Dot Pieces

SU Polka Dot Pieces

March 23, 2015

I came across a new-to-me challenge spot called “Can You Case It?”

Some of the DT members I am familiar with and some are new to me-

Yea! Always so fun to see more creativity:)

I had some items on my desk from another project so I picked them up and decided to play along this week. The challenge was Designer’s Choice #62 so any card fits the bill!

I used the SU colors Marina Mist, So Saffron, and Sahara Sand with the SU Hardwood background stamp. I chose the sentiment from the Occasions Catalog Hostess Set called Because You Care- what a neat set!

I just {heart} the SU Bird Builder punch. And, needless to say…I love the SU Polka Dot Pieces stamp set that coordinates with it! And, of course, the butterfly and flowers in the stamp set can also be effortlessly punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and the 1 1/4″ and 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. You can even punch out the centers of the flowers with the 1/2″ and 3/4″ Circle Punches!

Check out this cute set:

It’s time to get creative at the Friday Mashup # 162.

Here is Tara’s fun challenge for us this week:

Create a card with a removable or moveable part.

Create a card with stripes.

or

Mash it up by creating a card with a removable/moving part and stripes.

I mashed it up this week by creating a “Bookmark Card” using Blackberry Bliss diagonal stripes from the NEW Moonlight Designer Paper Stack coming out on June 2nd. The bookmark is perforated so it can be easily torn off by the recipient. I punched the top of the bookmark with the Scallop Tag Punch and adorned it with the new Blackberry Bliss ribbon.

I used the new Hello, Honey card stock along with the Blackberry Bliss and Hello, Honey ink for my flowers then stamped the stems using the new Mossy Meadow ink.

The flowers were easily punched out with the 1 3/4″ and 7/8″ Scallop punches and the 3/4″ circle punch. I popped up the layers of the flower on front of the card but left the bookmark tag flower one dimensional to fold inside the card.

This was so much fun to make with the SU Polka Dot Pieces stamp set. I just got it as an incentive from my upline, and it has become a new favorite of mine:)

Isn’t it just so cute? And look how many punches coordinate with the set: not only the  1 3/4″ and 7/8″ Scallops and 3/4″ circle I used but also the Elegant Butterfly and the Bird Builder punch. It’s a great set to have in your collection!

Those POLKA DOTS  and round shaped scallop flowers made me play along with the FUSION Card Challenge this week, too!
