SU Birthday Blossoms

November 18, 2015

I think it is so thoughtful when someone asks for a SU Gift Certificate for a friend.
I mean, seriously, aren’t crafting supplies “what a girls wants, what a girl needs?”
(boys too…but the tune playing in my head says girls…lol)

Anyhoo, a sweet lady requested a birthday gift certificate for a family member, and this is the card that will accompany the gift certificate:

SU Birthday Blossoms Woodgrain Frame

I was inspired by  Amy O’Neill’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #213 this week.

FMS Final 213-001

And, congrats to Amy for being picked as a SU Artisan Team Member for the next year!

I used my blender pens to color the blossoms in the SU Birthday Blossoms stamp set. Of course, I also used my favorite background stamp ever, Hardwood. To make the banner, I used the long, narrow die in the SU Gift Card and Trims Thinlits die set. Since it only has one pennant end, I cut one first and then popped it into the framelit and ran it through the Big Shot on the other end.  I use this die a lot because it is long enough to surround a lot of sentiments. I also used some retired Hello Honey DSP on the bottom under the panel to complete the sketch challenge.

A simple birthday greeting on the inside finished off the card  …

And now, a fun card I created when I played around with the

Freshly Made Sketches # 180 this morning.

FMS180

I wanted to use my new SU Bootiful Occasions stamp set. I kept thinking I had some bandana patterned paper around somewhere that I thought would go well with it.  So I spent a while searching for it and eventually found it in an unpacked box from a move over a year ago!!  Now, the color in the paper perfectly matched a long retired favorite of mine- Creamy Caramel. I had a whole pack in a file box! I am such a craft hoarder! So, here is what transpired along with the SU Hardwood Background stamp…

SU Bootiful Occasions

I used the Ticket Duo Builder Punch for the sentiment and the strip of stars from one of the accessory dies in the SU Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. I was ready to punch out the stars from the die cut strip of Basic Black then liked it as it was. So, I carefully adhered it to the card. And, of course, I had to add a little lasso, too.

I have to say, I really never thought I would order the Bootiful Occasions stamp set but it kept growing on me every time I saw it somewhere- especially that cowboy boot! I love the “Kick up yer heels” but cut it out and used the Happy Boot Day that worked with the Freshly Made Sketch this round. It’s actually a year round kind of stamp set:)

SU Polka Dot Pieces

March 23, 2015

I came across a new-to-me challenge spot called “Can You Case It?”

Some of the DT members I am familiar with and some are new to me-

Yea! Always so fun to see more creativity:)

Designers-Choice-001-300x218

I had some items on my desk from another project so I picked them up and decided to play along this week. The challenge was Designer’s Choice #62 so any card fits the bill!

I used the SU colors Marina Mist, So Saffron, and Sahara Sand with the SU Hardwood background stamp. I chose the sentiment from the Occasions Catalog Hostess Set called Because You Care- what a neat set!

SU Polka Dot Pieces with correct watermark

I just {heart} the SU Bird Builder punch. And, needless to say…I love the SU Polka Dot Pieces stamp set that coordinates with it! And, of course, the butterfly and flowers in the stamp set can also be effortlessly punched out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and the 1 1/4″ and 1 3/4″ Scallop Circle Punch. You can even punch out the centers of the flowers with the 1/2″ and 3/4″ Circle Punches!

SU Bloom for You

Happy Monday, kiddos! I wanted to share a card I did pretty quickly today for the Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge # 218.

SU Bloom for You

It is a CAS card today using the SU Bloom for You flower stamp that coordinates with the Fun Flower Punch. I pulled out these two fun things along with the SU Hardwood background stamp and the SU Remembering Your Birthday stamp to create a quick card since I am still cleaning up the stamp room from the flurry of activity there at the end of the week  and the two classes this week coming up. I was so happy to have a full class of “wonderful” people for my first Friday night at the NEW CindyLeeBeeDesigns Stamping Spot at the Pittsburgh Mills Mall.

Here are a few snapshots from the class…
