I posted a card last week where I sponged a background and stamped it with the SU Vintage Leaves and added some Crystal Effects. I sponged again with a Faux Layering Technique on this card. I used the Pals Paper Arts #266 colors to create the background.
I was inspired by a card done by my friend, Linda Heller. I tore a paper mask and applied some SU Two- Way glue to the torn edge and let it dry so it would be tacky but not permanent. I then simply masked off the bottom part of the Shimmer Paper I sponged on leaving room for the “grateful” which I doubled by glueing one on top of another to give a little more dimension on the card.
*Make sure to sponge up over the masked paper from the bottom instead of from the top so you do not tear the mask down and mess up the “faux edge.”
My girls and I did this card at class and all 45 turned out wonderfully! I was so excited everyone could see the WOW of the technique- you really can’t help but run your finger over it to see if it is layered! But make sure your paws are clean before you do that:)
