SU Thoughts and Prayers with new IN COLORS 2014-16

It’s been a week since I posted a card! The family went on a cruise to celebrate the three graduations that happened in the last two weeks. Had to share this cheesy photo…

I had planned to schedule some posts before I left but life got in the way! So, I took the cards with me planning to post while I was cruisin’ but the internet was way too sketchy to wait around for a post to upload, and it was exorbitantly expensive to boot. However, I see you all survived without me but know I was thinking of you all…lol.

We got back to Our Orlando home earlier than I expected  so I was able to get

Sara’s Friday Mashup #161 card finished and posted!

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:
Create a project with “Trees.”
Create a project with “Heat or Dry Embossing.”
Or Mash it up and create a project with “Embossing and Trees.”

I knew I would only be in FLA for a few days so I only brought 6 stamp sets and the new IN COLORS paper and ink with me- in case of withdrawal, of course. I did not have any of my embossing folders or fancy tools with me so I went super CAS with this one using the new green Mossy Meadow and the new yellow Hello, Honey. I am always surprised how the new  colors seem to be similar to current colors but when they are put against them- they are quite different! I was so happy to see the SU Thoughts and Prayers made the cut for the new catalog coming out on June 2nd. I did use a random green button that matched quite nicely with the Mossy Meadow on this card:

SU Thoughts and Prayers FM

Card Recipe:
STAMPS: SU Thoughts and Prayers
INK: SU Mossy Meadow
PAPER: SU Naturals Ivory, SU Mossy Meadow, SU Hello, Honey
ACCESSORIES: random matching green button, SU Naturals Twine
TOOLS: SU Large Oval Punch, SU Scallop Punch, SU Dimensionals

FYI: The tree stamped panels are each 1 1/4″ by 3″ adhered to a Mossy Meadow rectangle with about a 1/16 to 1/8″ border around and in between the panels. I then adhered the image to a rectangle of Hello, Honey with a 1/4″ border all around it.

  1. You & your family are GORGEOUS! Looks like you had a lot of fun….and your card is sweet too. Love the three panels….I need to try that technique!

    1. Thank you, LeAnne. You are too sweet. I really like that set but was at a loss of how to display the image so I went for the 3 panels. In the end, I liked the look.

    1. Thanks, Linda. We did have a fun time- we won the Movie Trivia theme song game and the Food Trivia game! Yes, we have a plastic trophy, too!

  2. LOVE CHEESEY family pictures! So great to see your beautiful family – and great card – as always – ever inspiring you are! In so many ways.

    1. Oh gosh, I should have and probably will post the “crazy one,” it was funny! We were missing my oldest son and his girlfriend (both had work schedules) but got my daughter and her boyfriend on the left and my son and his girlfriend on the right:) When we got home, we actually had all of them together- so rare when they grown up:(

  3. Love your great cruise photo. So glad you had a good time. Your card looks fabulous. Love the colors and design.

    1. Thanks, JoAnn. It was fun to be in one place. My oldest and his girlfriend could not make it but we got together with them when we got home. I love the new colors!

  4. Hi Cindy, Love the card and love the great family photo! Sorry I haven’t posted for a while. I’m recovering from RTKS and although things are moving along, I still don’t have the energy level I would like. Even getting on the internet tends to be a chore some days, but I do enjoy and appreciate your creativity. Have a blessed weekend. B

  5. Cindy, I love your clean and simple card! Sometimes that’s just the way to go. Love how you made your tree into panels too. It just adds a little more to the card, but not too much. I haven’t had a chance to grab the new In Colors and play with them yet. I hope to get a chance soon!

  6. I just love this tree and I think this CAS card showcases it wonderfully! I’m also impressed that you found time to even get a card done while on vacation! I am never that organized!

    Great photo of your family!!
