SU Birthday Card

SU Botanical Bliss Bundle

November 5, 2018

Oh, how I love Blackberry Bliss although I did call it Blackberry Mess last week at class
since it seems to travel all over the place when we are using it…LOL.

I used the die with the lovely floral design.

I simply used the one die above to cut out the flower and
then another die below to cut out the bottom around the leaves to get a free standing flower.

I also die cut Mossy Meadow leaves and adhered them to the Blackberry Bliss leaves to give the contrast.

The Layered Leaves embossed panel sets the stage for the card. To jazz up the focal image,
I embossed the sentiment in gold, added  a vellum stitched oval, a scalloped gold foil border, and scattered some gold sequins.
The Wood Textures DSP with the Gold Metallic Edged Ribbon gives the card a shabby chic feel,
don’t you think?

Simple stamped images finish off the inside of the card:)

SU Country Road

August 6, 2018

Taking a break from flowers, and using an awesome, rustic stamp set called Country Home.
I was inspired by the catalog sample on page 163 of the Annual Catalog.
A great card for the guys!

Wondering how I made that rectangle frame?
I started with a 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock. I stamped it with the Hardwood Background Stamp.
Then, I used the rectangle die from the Barn Door Framelits to cut out the opening.

I stamped the bottom of the Very Vanilla panel with grass using Old Olive ink and then embossed the horse with Copper Embossing Powder.
Next, I ran the Very Vanilla panel through the Big Sot using the Subtle Embossing Folder. Notice how cool the copper looks?
I roughed up my edges with the retired SU Distressing Tool and sponged some Soft Seude ink on the edges.
I love how the sponged ink seeped in the subtle creases.

SU Hand Delivered Four Panel Screen Card Video

July 16, 2018

It’s graduation party time, and I am sad that I can not be at my niece Ashalee’s graduation party
this week. I made her a special card to celebrate her achievement…

Oh, by the way…her school colors and orange and blue:)

I have a video showing you how to make a four panel screen card:

OH MY GOSH….I kept saying the panels were each 4″ when they are actually 3″  which is (3″ x 4 panels= 12″) So Sorry, friends!!!!

Since Pumpkin Pie is such a beautiful bright orange,
I paired it with the NEW Blueberry Bushel cardstock. I just loved them together:)

The Light Night of Navy Stampin’ Blend alcohol marker
blended well to complement Blueberry Bushel.

Simple and colorful, perfect for Ashalee!

SU Floral Frames Bundle

July 5, 2018

I just love black and white as a design element and adding in a pop of any color just makes me happy! Adding in red is even better!
I was playing around with my SU Floral Frames Bundle and came up with this:

Simply stamp the foliage image and run it through the Big Shot with the NEW Tufted Embossing Folder. Stamp some posies with the returning color Poppy Parade ink and pop them up with some stamping dimensionals. Oh, and I used the Layering Circles to accent the sentiment.

The leaves could have been colored in any of our great greens but I chose to keep in simple with just the three colors. I love the Poppy Parade color- such a lovely bright red so different from Real Red which is one of my faves. Red is an important color to have on hand and having two beautiful Stampin’ Up reds is super!

I just used a marker to dot in the middle of the flowers to mimic the front.
