SU Lots of Thanks

SU A World of Thanks and Lots of Thanks

August 21, 2015

This card is for YOU!
Yes, you…the one reading this post right now! Every one of you wonderful people…subscribers, class attenders, and perhaps even a new person to my little corner of the world today. I want you all to know how special you are to me…the encouraging comments, the text meassages, the emails with photos just delight me. I seriously can’t believe how my life has changed since I became a SU demonstrator and blogger.

Sometimes, I am just overwhelmed by how blessed I am to know you all through teaching classes, meeting you at SU events, and visiting you virtually via my computer screen.

So, I made this card with you in mind with the colors from ColourMe Challenge #85
Basic Gray, Melon Mambo, and Daffodil Delight.

Just a simple SU World of Thanks- don’t you just love the name of the stamp?
I added in the sentiment …a thousand thanks…from the retired SU Lots of Thanks stamp set, too. This is a super easy card with a big message!

SU Flower Shop with Lots of Thanks

I could not (emboss) resist combining LeAnne’s color challenge at The Paper Players  # 162  this week and  Jen B.’s sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches # 103.  I have not done this technique for many, many years and forgot what a great effect it has on a card. It is hard to believe the black panel was once white! I sponged on SU Pool Party and Rich Razzleberry in a random pattern  covering my Whisper White cardstock, stamped the flowers in Versamark Watermark ink, and clear embossed them. I then sponged black ink over the panel turning the colorful background black and allowing the colors to show through only on the clear embossed flowers. I also liked how the black sentiment stood out on the Rich Razzleberry.  And, yum…I love those Candy Dots.

SU Lots of Thanks – Perfectly Preserved

Casology #60 Cue Word this week is Apple. I just adore the apples in the retired SU Perfectly Preserved set. I guess it all comes down to sales in the mini-catalogs (well, we all know that, huh?) Anyhow, the set did not make it in the new Annual Catalog. It puzzles me because it is sooo cute and has framelits to boot!! I got out the apple thinking I would just do a singular little apple as a main focal point in keeping with Casology’s reason for existing- Clean and Simple- but somehow I got carried away and ended up with an orchard…  (at least I was inspired by the apple though!)
