SU Tea Bag Holder

SU Tea Party Ensemble

July 12, 2015

Over the weekend, I pulled out my retired SU Tea Party stamp set to take a look at the images as I started to plan for a fun ladies tea party my dazzling girlfriend puts on each year. Then I remembered a project I created for the Paper Crafters Sampler a year ago that I am allowed to share online now.

Can you guess what is in the little favor in the middle?

Everything I used is still available- the Hexagon Hive embossing folder, the doilies, and the burlap ribbon- only the stamp set and the chevron ribbon is retired but you may still  have it in your stash…well, I hope this inspires you to get it out and have a tea party!

Stampin’ Up Only Challenges # 126 is all about Designer Series Paper.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Pretty Petals Paper Stack!

I love every design in it!

Here is just one of the 12 patterns I chose to use to make a cute little tea bag holder using the SU Mini Treat Bag Thinlits. I wondered if the metal rimmed pearls would be that big of a deal but then I got them…OH MY…they are sweet!

The cardstock butterfly was die cut from the Butterflies Framelits, and the other two butterflies were die cut from SU Vellum with the Bold Butterflies Framelits. SU Vellum is quite a substantial vellum, thicker than some I have used in the past.

Amy’s Friday Mashup # 215 has a “3” as part of her mash up

so my 3 butterflies flew in under the radar!

The Very Vanilla panel the tea bag is attached to on the insert measures 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ and the Basic Black insert measures 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″. A sentiment from the Tin of Cards stamp set and a bit of retired grosgrain ribbon was added to pull out the tea bag insert.

I hope you try making one of these sweet little treats for someone…I love that they fit in a standard A2 envelope so you could send one in the mail, and tell a friend or relative to enjoy a cup of tea with you!
