SU Thank You card

SU Seasonally Scattered Thanks

I love the new SU Seasonally Scattered stamp set available for ordering tomorrow. It’s great when you can use a set for more than one occasion. You may have seen the “MERRY” and “LOVE” images floating around on blogs these days. I decided to play around with the “Thanks” stamp since it is timeless and Thanksgiving will be upon us before we know it. It is a pretty big stamp so it fills a page nicely- you only need to decide how to embellish it a bit. I decided to just border it with the Needlepoint Embossing Folders (still on the Clearance Rack) and scatter a few punched and pearled  Itty Bitty Accents flowers around the colorful image.

At the SU Convention this summer, we used a technique of inking up this stamp and then adding color with a sponge dauber. I used Crushed Curry all over the stamp and then daubed it with some Blackberry Bliss and Old Olive ink. I found the Blackberry Bliss ink  worked well with the Rich Razzleberry cardstock. I think it was darker and did not blend in as much as the with the Crushed Curry. I guess I could have used Blackberry Bliss cardstock but I picked up the Rich Razzleberry that matched perfectly and that’s how it went…

SU Seasonally Scattered Muliticolored thanks

The sun was shining brightly today- look how bright the Crushed Curry is -it looks like I enhanced it or something. But it just came out really bright even without a light turned on. Where is that sun when I really need it with dark colors?

It’s a Clean And Simple Card so I am sharing it with the gang over at Stampin’ Up Only Challenges # 104 who are asking for a CAS card this round.

SU Million and One

I hope you all are having a wonderful Memorial Day with family and friends celebrating the men and women who have served and are serving our country now. I also want to acknowledge the loved ones of those servicemen and women who sacrifice as well as they support their loved ones who serve. You are truly fabulous people! This is for you:

SU Million and One FMS

Jen M.’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches # 137 this week was a simple one that provided inspiration for indefinite possibilities.

I started my card and wanted to gussy it up some more with pearls on the all the flourished letters but my daughter saw it as it is sitting on my desk when she took a break from her NCLEX studying and commented how she LOVED it. She said, “Mom, I love all your cards but I really like simple ones like this.” So, I kept it CAS.

SU Petal Parade with a Dozen Thoughts for SALE-A-BRATION 2014!

A funny thing called life took me hostage for a few days…but I am back now! I got to hang out tonight with my old pals ( a.k.a my stamps) which made me super happy;) I searched around for some inspiration and found another awesome challenge site called Seize the Sketch created by the super talented Lesley Croghan.  Stampin’ Up has created a lovely DSP this year called Sweet Sorbet for its SALE-A-BRATION starting on January 28 and running through March 31st. I picked two of the designs to use with the SU Petal Parade- another fun SAB stamp set coming out soon. I paired it with the SU A Dozen Thoughts to finish of this softly subtle but at the same time bold card for
Seize the Sketch # 11.

SU Magnificent Maple for Dynamic Duos #78

Sorry, friends…apparently, this did not post on Saturday at the scheduled time I had it on my blog dashboard…

Happy Saturday, peeps! I hope your weekend has started out wonderfully- I also hope you can play along with the Dynamic Duos Challenge #78 this week- subtle colors of Crumb Cake and Always Artichoke. Hop over to the site and see what the Design Team has made to get your creative juices flowing. I used the Circle Thinlits and the SU Lots of Thanks and Truly Grateful stamp sets to make this flip card for the challenge. It was so much fun that I had my stamping gals try their hand at it this week using colors from the Sweater Weather DSP- they loved this die and its unique style. I really like the little accessory dies that come with it, too- that’s how I whipped up the banner and chevrons. It was a challenge to take a photo so here it goes:

SU Tiny Tags with Birds and Blooms Sizzlet

I played around with some paper tonight to post a card for the Muse Card Club # 38. I surfed around looking for some colors to combine with the inspiration I picked up from the flowers in a container on Therese Calvird’s card. I decided upon the fall colors from Pals Paper Arts # 175. I also used the design from Freshly Made Sketches #107 with a focal point in the lower right corner;)
