I used my first piece of DSP from the new SU catalog today! Do you ever find yourself reluctant to cut into DSP because it is so pretty? I really like a lot of the prints in the Gingham Garden especially the Island Indigo. I paired it up with the SU Secret Garden stamp set and a sentiment from Simply Sketched (again, love it!). I used The Paper Players # 151 sketch to lay out the card. Hope you enjoy the deep, bright colors;)
Card Recipe:
STAMPS: SU Secret Garden, SU Simply SKetched (hostess set)
PAPER: SU Island Indigo, SU Whisper White, SU Gingham Garden DSP
INK: SU Island Indigo, SU Melon Mambo, SU Lucky Limeade (retired)
ACCESSORIES: SU Pearls
TOOLS: SU Apothecary Framelits, SU Adorning Accents Edgelits, SU Secret Garden Framelits, SU Stampin’ Dimensionals
Beautiful card! I stopped ordering DSP because I wouldn’t cut it. It just sits on my table so pretty like. Lol!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a fun comment- You make me smile when you like something;) I just reorganized my DSP and realized there is enough to wallpaper the living room!!
You’re so very welcome, my pleasure. I enjoy your cards and ideas!
Cindy, This card is stunning. Such a clean and classy interpretation of the sketch. Truly beautiful. Thanks for playing along with The Paper Players this week.
Thanks so much, Brian. When I first saw the sketch- I wondered where to go with it? Then a bit later, I liked how it came out;)
I chuckled at your comment about being reluctant to cut into a piece of DSP, Cindy. I do the same thing. I have to be REALLY sure it is going to work on a project before I bring it to the paper trimmer. Haha! I just love how the gingham background really adds the perfect pop to your card. The pearl detail on the flowers is gorgeous, too. Thanks so much for joining us this week at the Paper Players! 🙂
Thank you, Anne Marie. I am a little more at ease with my off-brand papers but my luxurious SU DSP is so special because it coordinates so beautifully!
This is gorgeous, Cindy! I love how the mambo pops against all the pretty island indigo! The pattern is beautiful and I love how you’ve trimmed the label framelit! Thank you for playing along with my sketch at The Paper Players!
Thanks, Nance. I have really fallen in love with that gingham print! I think I may be using this sketch again soon. Loved everyone’s inspiration from it!
This is a great sketch, so spilme yet so stunning. I love the beautiful and bright card – it makes me feel really cheery and warm in the middle of our lovely English summer (yep, still raining!)
Gorgeous, Cindy….that diecut border just ties everything together so nicely!! Thanks for sharing it with us at the Paper Players!
Thank you, LeAnne. I love bordering with the framelits- so easy but a nice touch!
A perfect card, Cindy! It’s clean and cute. Of course, I am partial to the pearl flower centers. The border was a great design choice. Thanks for playing with The Paper Players!
Oh Anne, you are my pearl inspiration! Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving a sweet commment!
