SU Chalk Talk with an Angled Tag Punch – EOS Lip Balm Holder

Hey there, crafters! It’s time for another Friday Mashup Challenge – # 184.

Lisa is looking for some different takes on a box for gifting given with a thankful heart.

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:

Create a “Box Project.

“Create a project with a “Thanksgiving or Thankful Theme.”

or Mash it Up!

and create a “Thanksgiving- or Thankful-Themed Box.”

My daughter loves the new round EOS lip balms. I thought I would create a little box type holder for one of these popular items. Of course, the color is just perfect to go with last year’s Fresh Prints DSP.

EOS Holder

I simply made a little stand out of a 3 1/2 ” square scored in 3/4″ on all four sides with a circle framelit cut out for the lip balm to sit in.

EOS box stand

Then I cut two 2″ x 4 1/4″ pieces of DSP and used the Angled Tag Punch to bring the tops together with a sweet little Pool Party cotton ribbon. A touch of Real Red ribbon finished off the Crumb Cake Base. I stamped “For You,” from the Chalk Talk stamp set and added a Crumb Cake border using a Circle Framelit bordered by the 1 3/4″ scallop punch.  I was so pleased how the inside pattern of the DSP was complementary with the outside and not distracting as some double sided papers seem to be. I thought the posies deserved some pearl accompaniment as well:)

*My Mash Up thankful theme will be put to use when this goes to someone as a thank you!

And, this week, Stampin’ Up Only Challenges #108  has a

The Treat’s the Thing” theme,

so I am going to share it with everyone over there!

SU Perfect Blend in a SU Fry Box

Happy Friday, friends…Hold on a little longer, the weekend is in view!

Let’s start it out with a Friday Mashup Challenge. I am hosting Challenge # 173 with a school theme and YOUR school colors.

Fm173

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:

Create a project with ” a School Theme.”
Create a project with “Your School Colors.”
or Mash it Up! and create a “School themed project with your school’s colors.”

When I was in high school I was a Kittanning Wildcat with the colors of Red and White. I live about 40 minutes from my hometown in Pennsylvania and often visit. Isn’t it funny how you can grow up in a town and go there 30 years later and not know anybody anymore? Or how small it seems after all the years that have passed. They are even building a new combined high school so my high school will be non-existent next year.

My school theme includes a “Teacher Gift” to start out the school year. And I am sure every teacher will be starting it out with a little caffeine!

Taking a photo of the treat in a cello bag was difficult. Here are some other photos:

SU Teeny Tiny Wishes for a Happy St. Patrick’s Day

It’s Friday Mashup time again…time seems to be flying by- it’s already almost St. Patty’s Day! Heidi has a challenge for us to use a sketch and a rainbow theme this week.

fm151f

Create a project using the “Sketch”.
Create a project with “Rainbows or Rainbow Colors”.
Or Mash it up and create a project with the “Sketch and Rainbows or Rainbow Colors”.

Well, wasn’t it just grand that my favors for my wonderful stamping crew the last two days were Pots of Gold at the end of a rainbow! Of course, I did not mash it up with the fun sketch. Will you mash it up this week? Make sure to play along…The Friday Mashup # 151.

I used the SU Top Note Die to make the pot that I tucked some “green” tea into with a sentiment from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes. To make my rainbow, I simply stacked my Ovals of Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise, Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Only Orange (retired), and Real Red and cut each in half and adhered to the back of the Basic Black Top Note Pot of Gold. I just love making these little treats for my gals;)

SU Perfect Blend with Tag It

Amy at the Friday MashUp # 125 has a fun challenge this week- A-B-C, 1-2-3. The guidelines ask participants to use elements in the project beginning with A-B-C and use 1 embellishment, 2 stamp sets, and 3 colors. I was making favors for my upcoming  SU Perfect Blend class this Wednesday and they  fit in with the challenge perfectly.

Coffee Favors

It has been hard not to post this once I was done with the favors on Saturday morning… but I had to wait to post this until the last minute so I could surprise at least of few of my stamper gals tonight!

Espresso Beans

1- EMBELLISHMENT-Naturals Trim Ribbon

2- STAMP SET- SU Perfect Blend, SU Oh, Goodie

3- SU COLORS: Soft Suede, River Rock, Early Espresso

Sour Cream containers are soooooo easy to make to hold little gifts or treats. Start with  a 4 1/4 inch  by 5 1/2 inch piece of Designer Paper- it seems to be easier to work with than heavier card stock.
