SU Perfect Blend

SU Perfect Blend in a SU Fry Box

Happy Friday, friends…Hold on a little longer, the weekend is in view!

Let’s start it out with a Friday Mashup Challenge. I am hosting Challenge # 173 with a school theme and YOUR school colors.

Fm173

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:

Create a project with ” a School Theme.”
Create a project with “Your School Colors.”
or Mash it Up! and create a “School themed project with your school’s colors.”

When I was in high school I was a Kittanning Wildcat with the colors of Red and White. I live about 40 minutes from my hometown in Pennsylvania and often visit. Isn’t it funny how you can grow up in a town and go there 30 years later and not know anybody anymore? Or how small it seems after all the years that have passed. They are even building a new combined high school so my high school will be non-existent next year.

My school theme includes a “Teacher Gift” to start out the school year. And I am sure every teacher will be starting it out with a little caffeine!

Taking a photo of the treat in a cello bag was difficult. Here are some other photos:

Paper Crafters May Sampler 2014- “Thrice in Design”

PCS May 2014 smal

The designers at Paper Crafters Sampler put together a fun, yet challenging, sampler this month that offers three times more flair than the previous issue. The May 2014 issue, “Thrice In Design”, features design projects with trio’s, three’s, and third’s in mind.  Each project simply had to contain “3” of something, be it images, layers or shapes. This month’s template is also designed with the trio concept in mind; the Pocketed Triptych.

SU Perfect Blend

The SU Perfect Blend stamp set is an inexpensive little set that I have used a lot lately. One of my favorite DSPs to pair it with is the retired SU Well Worn- good thing I picked up a few packs on the Clearance Rack a few months back. Don’t forget to check out the new items- a good way to stock on at a great price! I grabbed a couple of coffee stirrers at my local coffee shop thinking they would look cute in the take-cup…and they do, don’t you think so? I loosely used the talented Linda Suarez’s layout at Freshly Made Sketches # 104 this week- though my banner is a wee little one from the Circle Thinlits card die;)

SU Perfect Blend Well Worn

Funny little story…at stamp class, a few of my gals kept restamping their sentiment saying they messed it up. I said, “Oh, it is supposed to be “shaky” looking- you know, like you are hyped up on caffeine!”

Card Recipe:
STAMPS: SU Perfect Blend
INK: SU Early Espresso, SU Soft Suede
PAPER: SU Cajun Craze, SU Not Quite Navy and SU Well Worn DSP (both retired), SU Naturals Ivory
ACCESSORIES: SU Linen Thread tied on a Cajun Craze Designer Button
TOOLS: SU Circle Thinlit Banner die, CB Seeing Spots (a fave of mine)

SU Perfect Blend with Tag It

Amy at the Friday MashUp # 125 has a fun challenge this week- A-B-C, 1-2-3. The guidelines ask participants to use elements in the project beginning with A-B-C and use 1 embellishment, 2 stamp sets, and 3 colors. I was making favors for my upcoming  SU Perfect Blend class this Wednesday and they  fit in with the challenge perfectly.

Coffee Favors

It has been hard not to post this once I was done with the favors on Saturday morning… but I had to wait to post this until the last minute so I could surprise at least of few of my stamper gals tonight!

SU Perfect Blend Sour Cream Container

A- ANTIQUE Brad

B- Espresso BEANS

C-CHOCOLATE COVERED  treat in a Sour Cream CONTAINER

Espresso Beans

1- EMBELLISHMENT-Naturals Trim Ribbon

2- STAMP SET- SU Perfect Blend, SU Oh, Goodie

3- SU COLORS: Soft Suede, River Rock, Early Espresso

Sour Cream containers are soooooo easy to make to hold little gifts or treats. Start with  a 4 1/4 inch  by 5 1/2 inch piece of Designer Paper- it seems to be easier to work with than heavier card stock.

Put sticky strip on two of the longer sides and one of the shorter sides.
IMG_4443

Roll the shorter side with the sticky strip removed over the other shorter side to create a tube.
IMG_4444

Remove one of the sticky strips from one of the longer sides and pinch together.Try to make the seam offset from the middle.

Now you can  put in your treat or gift.

Remove the sticky strip from the other longer side and pinch it together in the opposite direction of the other side.
