I was in Easter mode this week for my classes so I thought I would share one since Spring brings Easter with it. I am sure you have been seeing a lot of Chevron Punch lattices over blogland. Well, I tried my hand at one or two. You just punch a continuous line of chevrons out of a 8 1/2″ by 1 1/4″ strip of card stock. Repeat with another piece. Then you lay one on top of the other with the chevrons going in opposite directions. Then simply interlace them and gently spread to create the lattice. I used the Little Leaves Sizzlet for the leaves and the Petite Petals for the flowers on this card. I also used the lovely retired SU set Crosses of Hope. The Hardwood Stamp is the perfect background for the lattice and the cross, don’t you think?

I also made one with the Woodgrain background stamp that has a finer line image on it. I used the Bird Builder punch of the leaves on this one.

After making both of them…
I think I would use the Hardwood background with the Bird Builder leaves
on my next card…

I sure hope you play along with the Friday Mashup this week. As you can see, I did not mash it up this week, will you? I would love to see it!

SU Crosses of HOPE

As I mentioned earlier this week, I was given the SU Crosses of Hope as a timely gift;) The CASology # 37 cue word is HOPE this week. This set not only has HOPE in the name but also offers HOPE  to all we believe in the Cross. I chose the specific colors to represent how the cross offers HOPE. The black signifies the sin we all have in our heart, the red stands for the blood of Christ that cleanses the black sin, and the abundant white space is the total and complete forgiveness of the black sin in our lives if we allow Christ in…

Week 37 - Hope

SU Crosses of Hope

I was blessed last week to receive this beautiful SU Crosses of Hope set from my son’s girlfriend. Can you believe she picked out a set that I did not own? And, it is so pretty- I don’t know why I had not ordered it already! I made a card last night using Freshly Made Sketches #78. I think the message of the cross is a simple one: Jesus graciously died for our sins so  I kept this card simple with the focus on the cross popped up with SU Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used purple to signify HIS royalty. May we praise HIM as we remember HIS love during this Holy week. May you all be blessed!
