SU Festival of Trees

SU Festival of Trees

Happy Monday, crafty ones!

ColourMe Challenge # 45 is MONOCHROMATIC this round.

The focal color is Real Red with a neutral color if desired.

CM 45

I used the SU Festival of Trees stamp, the Stylish Stripes embossing folder, and the File Tab Edgelit with Basic Black as my neutral color with Real Red. A few scattered rhinestones finished off the card.

* The red card base is 4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″ so with the file tab sticking out, the card measures 4 1/4″ wide and can fit inside an envelope.  The white striped piece is 4″ x 5″ and the black border is 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″.

SU Festival of Trees in Red and Black

I was inspired by myself in the making of this card…HAHAHA

My girls and I did a similar card at our Product Class last month with Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder and silver as our color palette. I also did a shoebox swap a few weeks ago with this card.

Here it is…

SU Festival of Trees Purples

I decided to tweak it a bit and use Real Red and Basic Black this time when I saw the challenge at ColourMe.

It’s fun and quick to use a design you already have and sub in and out some of the elements.

11/11/14 Thank you, Claire for the pick this week!

Imagine my surprise when my sweet friend Darnell Knauss of DJKardKreations alerted me to the

MUSE challenge # 93

muse_blinkie

– so I would like to acknowledge Therese Calvird’s CAS trendy card that fits in wonderfully with my design of Christmas trees and rhinestones!

Happy Christmas

I have been a bit busy and have not played along in a loooooog time with the fantastic participants over there- such sweet crafters. YOU get to be the judge of the gallery each Monday morning, so check the cards out and vote on your top 3 faves next Monday morning, November 17!

SU Festival of Trees for FM

I am excited to be the hostess this week at the Friday Mashup #181.

I have to admit, I have  an ulterior motive…

I am asking for ideas for my holiday gift tagging needs (wink, wink.)

I can’t wait to see what you crafty ones will share with everyone at the Friday Mashup!

FM181F

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:

Create a “Tag for a Bottle, Box or Bag.”
Create a project with “Bling.”

SU Festival of Trees FM

Project Recipe:
STAMPS: SU Festival of Trees
INK: SU Pear Pizzazz, SU Lost Lagoon
PAPER: SU Glimmer Paper (last year’s) SU Pear Pizzazz, SU Lost Lagoon, SU Whisper White
ACCESSORIES: SU Glimmer Brad, SU 1/8″ Silver Ribbon
TOOLS: SU Bitty Banner Framelits, SU Tree Punch, SU Oval Framelits, SU 1 1/4″, 1 1/2″, 1 3/4″ circle punches, SU Banner Framelits

Be sure to check out what the creative Design Team has to share this week as inspiration.

Some basic directions for making this tag:

I used the largest Banner die on the Pear Pizzazz cardstock. I cut two of them and then cut off the pennant ends off of one by lining the straight end at 3 3/4″  on my trimmer. After it was cut, I scored it at 3″ and folded it over and attached to the other full cut banner. I used the smallest banner die for the little tail in the middle.

The initial hole on the tag for hanging is 1 3/8″. Then I punched out of Lost Lagoon cardstock a 1 3/8″ circle with enough room around it to punch a 1 3/4″ circle that left a thin donut to border around the hole punched on the tag. I made another Glimmer donut the same way using the 1 3/4″ punch and the 2″ punch and put that glimmer border around the Lost Lagoon one.

You can adapt the tag with any stamp set you have and put it on

vinegars/oils, lotion, bubble bath, room deodorizer, coffee syrups- any thing you hang something off of!

Send me a pic if you create a tag with this template- hey, do one for this challenge!
