SU Lovely as a Tree

SU Lovely as a Tree with Sketched Birthday

Crafters, it’s time for the Friday Mashup Challenge # 150. This week, Holly is asking us to

Create a “Masculine” project.

Create a project with some “Stitching/sewing on it”

or

Create a “Masculine project with Stitching on it”.

The machine at the burlap factory made it easy for me to add the stitching to my card! I know, that is a stretch but it is woven and stitched together…just sayin’…

This card is going to the wonderful nephew of a dear friend and neighbor. In fact, that nephew is also the son of another sweet friend of mine!

SU Lovely as a Tree FM Masculine

I used the ole faithful SU Lovely as a Tree for my image. I usually use the other trees so it was fun to use the oak this time. I pulled out my SU Pastel Chalks to add the color to my circle since my sponging ability was less than desirable. The chalks are a favorite of mine and so easy to achieve a more even tone. I guess it is safe to say that the SU Hardwood is a new favorite of mine as well!!

Hope to see your masculine and/or stitched project this week, hop over to the

SU Lovely as a Tree

What a classic- SU Lovely as a Tree- I hope it never retires. It is such a versatile set that can be used for a sympathy card, a thank you, or a birthday. Whatever sentiment you choose, it can always be sent to a man because of its outdoorsy feel. I made this MASCULINE card to submit to the Addicted to CAS # 7.

I  first sponged the rectangle where the treeline image sits and then stamped the treeline image over it in SU Old Olive ink. I finished the card off by stamping the tall pine tree in SU Always Artichoke.

It’s starting to look like Autumn here in Pittsburgh, PA…

but it will be more comfortable when the humidity that came with the rain makes an exit !! The Paper Players Challenge #111 celebrates the season with a focus on leaves and trees. I made a tea bag holder which is an excellent little gift to say a random thanks to the people who touch our lives everyday like a postal carrier, a bus driver, or the receptionist at the dentist office!
