Christmas in July with SU More Merry Messages

It’s the last day of the month and just in the nick of time for Christmas in July at The Friday MashUp # 120. I Mashed It Up with the Christmas theme and Stripes. I am still in love with the retired SU Be of Good Cheer DSP but I am  super excited for the new  silver and blues coming up August 1st!! Our basement is decorated in an outdoorsy theme  with pines year round and when I snapped this photo, I got I little excited for Christmas…but definitely want summer to stick around for a while here in Pittsburgh!

SU Truly Grateful

Here’s a sneak peek at a new  Stampin’ Up stamp set Truly Grateful available for order August 1st in the Holiday Mini-catalog! My pal Wendy won it on Prize Patrol at convention and graciously let me play with it until mine came! I really like it- simple and rustic to use for the Thanksgiving holiday and  the thank you cards to send thereafter! I flipped Amy’s sketch at Freshly Made Sketches #96 to create a tag on my card front:

SU Serene Silhouettes with Loving Thoughts

When I saw Jaydee’s sketch for The Paper Players #155, I immediately thought of a tent card with a circle! So I took  some liberty with the sketch and came up with this card:

SU Serene SilhouettesLoving Thoughts

Card Recipe:
STAMPS: SU Serene Silhouettes, SU Loving Thoughts
INK: SU Bermuda Bay, SU Soft Suede, SU Summer Starfruit
PAPER: SU Bermuda Bay, SU Soft Suede, SU Summer Starfruit, SU Whisper White
TOOLS: SU Stampin’ Dimensionals, Nestabilities Circles dies, CB Embossing Folder

I masked out the moon with a sticky note and sponged SU Bermuda Bay and SU Summer Starfruit ink onto my white paper. Then I stamped the image over the sponged ink with the masking removed so the birds would stand out from the stark white. To make the tent, I scored a 5 1/2 inch by 5 1/2 inch square at 2 3/4 inches. To make sure it will fit in an A2 envelope, place the tent on an A2 size card front and then place your circle on the tent keeping in within the parameters of the A2 size.

SU One in a Million with a Sketched Birthday Balloon

Oh, golly… I am going to call this entry into The Friday MashUp # 119 the Wednesday MessUp since I managed to take an entirely clean work surface and turn it into this for just one card:

But in the end…I Mashed it up with the sketch and a lot of NEW catalog items- the Birthday Basics DSP, the Crisp Cantaloupe Ruffled Stretch Ribbon, and the new paper colors like Smoky Slate, Crisp Cantaloupe and Bermuda Bay (a return to the line-up). I love how stamp sets become fresh and new to me when I use new colors, papers, and accessories!

I masked out the ONE on my stamp image by placing a small piece of post-it note over it before I inked it so I could use the number 1 instead of the word one. Oh, and don’t forget to remove the post-it before you stamp!
