Kintsugi, also known as kintsukuroi, is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the cracks with lacquer mixed with gold, silver, or platinum. It’s more than just a repair technique; it’s a philosophy that embraces imperfections and sees beauty in the broken. It was so interesting to to learn more about the history of Kintsugi- really reminds me of the brokenness of humankind and the way Jesus puts us back together to be perfect through Him before our Heavenly Father. And that Jesus uses all our imperfections to create beauty through salvation- complete and whole!
Oh, it is so pretty! I spent last evening cutting out the gorgeous vases in the Kintsugi Imperfections Designer Series Paper- Yes, I got 28 of each vase in one pack- 2 sheets with only the vases and the 28 pretty Petal Pink and Lost Lagoon flowers, too!
With the gold accents on the DSP, I added some Brushed Gold Metallic Paper to the card. The Brushed Silver & Gold Metallic Paper is on Last Chance/Discontined List- $5 for 6 sheets- 3 silver and 3 gold- AMAZING DEAL! I also used the Joined Together 3D Embossing Folder that coordinates with the Kintsugi Suite on page 59 of the Annual Catalog. It was not available for a long time but is NOW! I cut a little slit in the small bowl to tuck in the flowers. And used some gold die cuts on the inside, too. Those pretty flowers can be put in the vases, too.
