SU Everybunny

THERE goes Peter Cottontail for The Friday Mashup #98. I almost missed the deadline, I thought it was Thursday. I mashed it up with both challenges- to use a bunny and the sketch. it is great when you can use your punches for more than just an image! I sponged around the bunny to soften the white and have him jumping over a log or maybe he is crawling into the log? I used the sentiment from the SU Everybunny stamp set to finish off the card.

SU Word Play

I like to combine card challenges- it not only double challenges me but also gives me fresh new ideas to use for one challenge that I would not have thought of for another challenge. I was inspired by Jaydee’s shamrock over at The Paper Players this week to create a card for Pals Paper Arts # 153 Sketch Challenge  and SU Only Challenge #65 Going Green. I definitely knew that SU Gumball Green was the perfect color for a shamrock and “lucky” me that SU Print Poetry DSP  paper stack  had 3 designs in that color- perfect for Pals Paper Arts! I played around with creating shamrocks by cutting one out, folding the paper four times and cutting out a heart half way and none of these ideas cooperated with me and looked nice. So, in the end, I formed a shamrock from the small heart in the  Hearts-a-Flutter die set and jazzed it up with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and a Dahlia In Color button.

SU Lovely as a Tree

What a classic- SU Lovely as a Tree- I hope it never retires. It is such a versatile set that can be used for a sympathy card, a thank you, or a birthday. Whatever sentiment you choose, it can always be sent to a man because of its outdoorsy feel. I made this MASCULINE card to submit to the Addicted to CAS # 7.

I  first sponged the rectangle where the treeline image sits and then stamped the treeline image over it in SU Old Olive ink. I finished the card off by stamping the tall pine tree in SU Always Artichoke.

SU Oh, Hello

You know those stamp sets you see that don’t really float your boat so you hold off ordering them? SU Oh, Hello was one I didn’t order when the catalog came out but was pleasantly surprised to receive one at the SU Leadership Confernce this past January;)   This set has really grown on me…the chevron oval can be used as a stand alone image- a background- or imagine die cutting it into another shape. The flower is adorable and easily accepts markers to change colors in a snap. The sentiments are varied and could be used as an invitation with coordinating thank you notes. Oh, and the other  printed and stitched chevrons can accent almost any stamp set you have! Definitley a great stamp set to have- Thank you, STAMPIN’ UP!!

SU Inspired by Nature

I was inspired….by nature and by Colour Q # 177 this week when I made this card. I loved the color picks, and when I saw  SU Always Artichoke I immediately thought of leaves. This, in turn, brought me to one of my favorite retired SU stamp sets Inspired by Nature. Since the image is markered and resembles watercoloring, I thought the texture of dry embossing would be fun to do.
